Airboat Financing

Ok, I need some help guys. I want to find a finance company that I can work with so I can offer in house financing or at least have someone to reccommend for customers who are interested in buying. Most banks have no idea what an airboat even is.
Anybody have some ideas, enlighten me.
I can't seem to get anywhere with the "Bankers".

If anyone know's I figured SA.com would be the place to check!

Thanks

Applied for a boat loan from my bank " Bank Of America" Having just paid off the loan on my other boat I figured that they would just give me another one. Everything was fine until I told them it was an Airboat. They stated "we do not finance Airboats" I had to use my credit line which was by the way 1% lower then the rate they quoted for a boat loan. Good luck finding insurance. Had to get mine in California

I hate to put this 2+2 together, but I'd like someone to clear it up for me:

Banks don't want to make a loan to buy an airboat because we're "different".

Insurance Companies don't want to insure airboats because we're "different".

But we're trying to get legislation passed to keep laws from singling out airboats. Like we're the same?

I don't mind being "different" - I take that as a compliment. I hope that if the law includes the anti-discrimination bit, it'll be a good first step to convincing the banks and insurance industries that we're "different" because we're better.

Hey Faron, we used Harbor Federal SAvings Bank for the loan on our airboat. We also have a local company that provided insurance. It is Progressive and if you call Progressive they will say they don't do it but we got a local company to do it. It is not cheap but we got it.
Matt don't say don't because we have insurance on our boat and we were the first to get a loan on an airboat at our bank. They are willing to work with you but you have to ask.

i have a friend of mine in Fl. who insures airboats. she called me yesterday with some questions about hp, length and basically 'what are they?' questions. i'll get her info and post it online. i believe she lives just west of Cocoa.

Duckluv--where's that contact information for the airboat insurance. Thanks in advance, Charles
