Airboat Financing

What's the best way to get the bank to give you money?

I understand airboat insurance is very expensive and hard to find. I have some commercial equipment which I think I can use as collateral, but what should I tell the bank? I am leery of telling them I want to buy an airboat.......

Advice?

most of the air boat shops have some sort of financing you might check with the major air boat builders.

Most Airboat Companies are in the NADA Book for Marine Appraisal.
Many are a lso GSA contractors. These things are all a plus to the bank. You can get insurance from Offshore Risk Managment 321-449-0440
or Dave Webb with JW terrill Inc 1-800-530-3357. We reffer them often.
If you have good credit then find a major company and you should have no problem.
I think that some of the insurance companies goe by experince and cost of boat.
Good Luck.

Well if your buying enough boat you can always check with your local mortgage broker and re-finance your house and that way the interest is tax deductible and you dont have to tell anyone anything. You can do it with a heloc ( home equity line of credit) or if your rate is high on your current first you can do a full re-finance and throw in any credit card debt you have and get an airboat and have enough money left to run it each month. It is a viable option ... if your in florida send me a pm or email and I can help you if you want.

What C141 said. Home equity is the way to go. That way you have a choice to insure it or not---also no lien is recorded which may save you some taxes. Where I live they'll tax your farm tractor, boats, even lawn mowers if they know about them.

I just bought my first airboat the 2 weeks ago and I live in Arkansas where the loan officer said "ya mean one of those florida swamp boat thangs?" and I said YEP they had no problem, once they got info off the internet, I did have trouble gettin insurance I used a company out of California and its 408.00 dollars a year which I think is fair for a 15x7 Panther boat
