Airboat in the snow

Currently i am in Madison, WI and the snow is about 12" deep and the temp is 1F and with the wind chill it is -13F. It is cold but as i ride through the farm land it makes me want to run my boat over the snow. So how is the snow running?
I am asking this question because I am born and raised in FL.

A good Bud of mine said back in the day when Fl got cold he was riding on a pasture south of 50 that was covered with ice. He said it was the fastest he has ever been and the furthest he has ever been after he let off the gas.

A guy won a bet one time. $100,000.00. He bet another guy that he could hit a golf ball nearly a mile if the conditions were right, and the other guy took the bet.

The first guy walked the other one out onto a frozen lake, and legend has it that that ball went over two miles before it stopped.

IF I could get the damn thing out of the barn, I'd tell you just how fast one can go over the snow.
Mister let me tell you we've got snow.

Snow is alot of fun to run on. Ice is something all together different it can get you hurt ready fast. You need alot of room because as soon as you let off the gas, the rear end want to come around. 25 MPH is fast on the ice ,have been up to 50 one time never again.

Snow can be fun.
And it can suck.
It is kinda like skiing, the condition of the snow makes it fun, or miserable. A few degrees one way or the other makes it slippery or sticky.
If there is slush under the snow, it can stop you dead. (plowing)
Most of the time it is fun though.
You just got to get out and try it.
Bob is right about the glare ice. It is very tricky.
I live in Minnesota and we have been out quite a few times this winter.
This cold streak kept us on the couch for a couple weeks.
Have fun, it is a lot different than running the lakes or river.
