Airboat Insurance

Do any of you currently carry insurance on your boat? I am buying a new Alumitec boat and got a quote for $1400 per year. :? This sounds to high of a price for basic insurance. If any of you know a reputable company with a fair price please let me know before I drop what it would cost to replace the entire rigging.

I suggest that you call and not e-mail. If you have an umbrella liability policy, you need to discuss that with Bryant and the company that issued the umbrella policy. That could save you money.

I think you can insure the boat for minumum liability, show your agent that holds the umbrella policy the boat policy and the umbrella will cover. You need to verify that it's true in your case.

I don't have a policy with them (no boat), but they can at least explain airboat insurance in FL.

I have only liability in case a family of mexicans decide to go canoeing down airboat trail but today I wish I had full coverage as someone stole my prop and 1/2 a hub

$1400 sounds good depending on what limits you want, and replacement value of boat, I think you will have a hard time beating that quote. Try Elton Porter in Seabrook Texas(ask for Dennis 713.772.2991) all they write is boat and Yacht insurance and got me a good commercial policy for my new Diamondback. Calm Seas..

I am not exactly sure what ours is a year but I think it is about $1200 a year. We got ours through a local company but our insurance is Progressive. If you call Progressive they will say they have no insurance for airboats so. But we have full coverage on that baby
