Awww Shucks.

That is a really nice thing to say Brian. I'm thrilled that you like them so well.
And thanks for giving me a public testimonial!!! I've worked really hard on those maps, and I continue to do so!
Maps I've got in the cooker....
Kissimmee River SOUTH of Hwy 60.
Arbuckle Lake - Arbuckle Creek - Lake Istopoga
ALL of Everglades WCA-3 - Rottenburger to Tamiami and oil wells to US27 (includes a lot of the eastern Big Cypress)
Orange/Lochloosa Lakes map is SO CLOSE to being done.
I had a map of area 2 and Lox in the works, but I think I'll restart that one.... It had TOO MUCH detail. I bit off more than I could chew on that one. I'll re-do Area 2 and Lox from a little bit zoomed out perspective. (It's working really good for the 3A map.
Maps still on my "To-Do" list:
Hernando pool of Tsala Apopka Lake
St. Johns River - Lake Harney to Lake Monroe
Stick marsh - Lake Blue Cypress
Lake Okeechobee
And them move on to out-of-Florida areas...
Tim Bryson's area of Nebraska
Some of the monster coastal lakes in Texas
Marshes and bayou areas of southern Louisana
A lot left for me to work on!!! Did I leave any area out?
This whole project started out as my fearing getting lost on the kissimmee chain - and I could not find a map so I made one of my own. Dave Markett liked it so much he gave me much encouragement - Thanks Big Daddy!
From there it turned into sort of a project where I wanted to "inventory" the state's airboating areas - so we can keep an eye on them and keep from losing them.
And they are aerial PHOTO based - so 20 - 30 even 50 years from now folks will be able to look back and see what it USED TO LOOK LIKE. All my maps use aerial photos from 2003 to 2005.
But thanks for the compliment about the quality. I'm fussy when it comes to getting these things printed, and can get cheaper done, but it just does not have the same quality look and feel.
Get out a magnifying glass and look closer. You can see trails as narrow as ONE BOAT WIDTH!!!! (on the St. Johns maps) You can count the trees at 7 palms and see that one fell down and is now 6 palms (just south of Paw-Paw mound) Many of the other maps are like this for detail, but the larger area maps are not. (Kissimmee and the new everglades)
Brian - you may want to consider taking those maps to a place that can laminate them. I've discovered that matte finish (NONgloss) lamination looks the best.
Thanks again! Brian, Faron and everyone who encourages me on these maps. Basket, Randy, Rick, Red Dwarf, Stan, C Chardt, Safari Rick, Waterthunder.... all of southern airboat!!!!
matt.
