Local airboat manufacturer says design can meet high standards

Airboat builder Mike Emrich made a bold prediction Friday, and he believes he can back it up.

Emrich, owner of Floral City Airboat Co., said he would soon market an airboat that can skim over the water at full speed and generate no more than 90 decibels of sound at 50 feet . . .

Well, he'll probably succeed. Then the state will force the issue and we'll all be forced to buy a 50,000 dollar boat. Always wanted one of those. :?
