Airboat Races September 9, 2006

I know this thread is elsewhere but this is where it needs to be. We are having the races here in Brevard County on September 9, 2006 out at Sarno Extension which is off of Eau Gallie Blvd. Exit # 183 off of I95. The races start at noon and it should end around 5 or 6.

If you are interested in racing please contact Waterthunder on southernairboat. If you are interested in becoming a vendor please contact me.

Also, Rick is buying a spot at the races but we need volunteers to come and sit in the tent. There will be pictures, t-shirts, hat, and etc. Please let me know or let Rick know if you will be able to be there. I am asking several months ahead so people can plan around it.

I think everything has been cancelled.But Dakota can verify.Ins again I beleive.

There are some major rumors flying but I have been told and this is just a rumor their shooting for October. Which I think would be awesome that way family and kids can watch the race and not be sitting in the sun for hours in August.

I hate to see so much of a problem just to race our boats. They race everything in the world on late night TV but an airboat race takes months or years to even see another one. I hope the race date holds up because I cannot wait. So lets make it a success

Whats the hold up? Sponsers? Insurance? Racers?
What's the real reason they can't seem to get them going? I have heard that it is simply politics!

We had a hell of a race a few years ago down here in the glades...no sponsors, no insurance just good ole nationals...

The thing we are having trouble with is insurance. I know that a couple of members have been talking to some people and that is why I say, I will give you an update after the meeting when I know more. Right now is a bad time with Brandy missing and all so that is why I am asking you to wait.
