Airboat Trader Question

Well-known member
1. I have been recently reviewing the Airboat Trader and noticed and extreme amount of dislike (trying to be a little P/C here) about various engine builders. I personally have used one of the engine builders (Jr. Jurnigan) and thought he was fair and did an excellent job. Until now I have never heard anything bad about him. Not trying to start a bashing or comercial for Jr. thread so if not Jr. who do you use?

2. There is no excuse for trash talk and fowl language on the trader or this sight. If you want keep these sites up those of you who are doing this need to quit.

I like Jr. Jurnigan (and his family) personally and also have always been pleased with his work. He has gone above and beyond for me more than once.

cfth,

When you see a post like that, report it to the admistrator, which is rick here. I know the trader will not tolerate that stuff either. Don't assume they have seen it. They may not catch it immediately, so report it. We have been lucky here. It's a pretty laid back group.

Junior helped me out way before he got any business from me. LOL, good thing that answering questions doesn't have a charge fee. Know of several boats that have motors he provided cylinders for and rebuilt the one on the Kline hull I run. No complaints, runs like a scalded cat.

Mark's Airboats in LA also does some excellent work with Lycomings engines. I know of several that he rebuilt and they run fine. REALLY FINE

Sure there are other good ones around, and there are some bad ones. Just ask around.

I have heard a lot of lycomings that are "Rebuilt" with lots of piston wrist pin slapping, valve clattering, and others don't. That sure makes me feel good when there is not all that extra noise bad there.

I've gotten several engines that were rebuilt by Lacy Everet. They were all good motors and really top-notch rebuilds. The last motor I got was rebuilt by Mike Kliebert from Ponchatoula here in Louisiana where I'm, I also have had Jerry McKinney from Springfield rebuild my 0360 not long ago. These are all top notch builders. Plus Mike Kliebert builds custom built aluminum Decked Louisiana swamp boats, just like the all black 12ft decked boat that my dad built thats it my member's gallery. AND THESE BOATS ARE BUILT TO LAST THE SWAMP.
