Airboat Wedding Invite

AirboatRN

Well-known member
This is the official announcement of our "Airboat Wedding" on November 18, 2006.

The ceremony will be at Paw-Paw Mound with a reception/party to follow at Loughman Lake Lodge in Mims, Florida.

We would like to invite all of our airboat "family" to share this solemn and joyous occasion with us. All of you here at Southern Airboat have been a real inspiration for us, and we are thankful to have had the honor of meeting and knowing the best group of folks ever!

In keeping with our well-known standard of breaking things, we will be breaking tradition in our wedding also... airboat ushers, no dress code (cut-offs and bare feet welcome), and a potluck barbecue reception.

Extra seats on airboats are needed to usher family and friends to the site of the ceremony (and back afterwards), so anyone who wants to volunteer can PM either of us. As a matter of fact, several good-hearted airboat friends have already signed on... Thanks Y'all!!

More details will be coming as the time gets nearer.

Any suggestions and advice you may have are welcome, too!

Laura & Matt.

I'm putting it on the calendar for November's monthly ride for SCAC.A lot of these guys rode with us at the reunion and stayed at the Lodge. Are the times set?Leaving Loughman at 2:00 ceremony at 3:00?

Yeah Skeeter, that's roughly the times. The minister (my dad) promises a short & sweet ceremony. :D

We're going to ride from Loughman down to Pawpaw, have the ceremony, and then ride back.

We're having a few family members that will need to get rides down to Pawpaw.

But all those moment to moment details are not set. We may ride a little south before heading back, we may ride north into puzzle lake then double back to Loughman.

We are not going to plan that part until a few days before the wedding when we can see what the water level is doing.

As it stands right now. By 2pm or so, we want to begin leaving Loughmans

By 3:15 or so, we'd like to be headed off to the next stop.... with the group gathering back at Loughman's for a cookout AIRBOAT STYLE. Safari Rick is Bringing his KILLER COOKER there, and we're supplying some good food, as well as asking folks to bring a covered dish (since it's an open invite wedding, we sort of have to do this - not kowing for sure how many will be eating)

A little dancing, some cake eating. And by sunset the bride and groom will ride off. Supposed to be a good night for froggin' so S/A may want to plan a froggin' ride.... Who knows!

that's the plan so far anyway. Looking forward to Y'all sharing our last ride as single people and our first ride as a married couple!!!! :love8:
