Airboat withdraws

Well I put my airboat in for new stainless steel 2 weekends ago and now I'm starting to have the shakes and the wife says "I'm short and snappy with here". Maybe I'm that way because she doesn't go airboating with me. I always tell her "Windy is the other woman in my life".

I'm also getting new poly on it. I had purchased some Trim Tab Trolling motors and made my mind up not to put them on due to the weight.....about 175lbs. Would have been fine on a 16' so I got the ploy instead.

Anyway I'm hoping that I'll get her back before the run to the Glades. Would like to make a shake down run before then.

OH the wife is still here!!!! I need my airboat back soon
but when it's back it should look good and glide across the dry ground with the new poly. I just need to remember not to unhook it from the trailer until I'm in the water.

a1 I know the airboat withdraws is going to come down on me. I was doing a go over on my boat yesterday. Checking everything over. Fired it off the noises was there. the bottomend of my engine knockin so here I go on a rebuild. So I don't think rade the glades run is a go for me. :(

I went two months during my reduction conversion and it was the worst of times! :boxing:

I know the feeling ,I to have been suffering for about two weeks now pulled heads off the cadi for new springs .floated a valve in the yard the other day .

that,s why when I upgraded to a 6cylinder motor I kept my 4cylider popcorn popper so if one is down Ihook up my other one and go.

Dang you guys! A1 & Bubba - We'll miss you in the 'glades! Git'r done! I hope you both can get over your boatless blues before then!

A1 - It'd be a pleasure to meet your wife someday. There are a lot of spouses out on these runs (if they can do it, she can do it!) - she'd have company and meet some fine women! (not that the women have to stay seperated or anything... she'd meet some fine PEOPLE) I hope you can convince her to ride with you sometime. But I must say, What a woman! to let you take off on your own as much as you do. That is a really cool thing that she trusts you like that.

Bubba - get that 289 motor put on, adjust your prop and bring your dad down for the ride. If he was a kid growing up in the glades, it'd be fun to ride with him on his triumphant return.

Being boatless for Laura & myself is a worry. We've thought about selling our boat, and putting the money toward a better one. But fear being boatless during that transition. On our budget we have to buy broken boats (cheap) and fix them. So that means a few months of build time after we find our 'new' boat. We're currently shopping for a second boat we can rebuild paycheck at a time and then we'll have an extra boat we could sell. (or sell BOTH and buy a working boat)

Hey, do they have a PATCH you can wear to help with the airboat withdrawl feelings?

matt.

About the only thing that would resemble a patch would be a passsenger seat applied to the rear! The side effects would be anxiety, lack of patience and a renewed energy to git r done. :D

I have another buddy - FlatsMeow - who is downright nasty over his ride being down. His best friend, NoBoatBuddy - is also down at present while he repowers. These guys are kicking their dogs and growling all the time.

The only cure is - Buy Two. One will always be on the upgrade. If we follow Stan's lead and make them condos, then we can sell the house so we'll have the $$$ to keep 'em both - or either - going.

It's a delimma. Mine is: How am I gonna pay for a Jurnigan 6 Pack? I covet a set of new and improved jugs - it's a male thing. But, how'm I gonna pay for 'em? Nuther male thing..I want 'em, I want 'em, I want 'em

Hint: A1's boat is gonna look HOT when it's finished.

I/m already in withdraws just thinking about what i/m going to do with mine... gonna repaint, new metal work, and add a turbo real soon. I/ve already done about all I can do around the house putting it off ... but its time
