Toy drive
The airboat Christmas toy drive takes place at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lake Washington Park in Melbourne. Follow Lake Washington Road west to the shore. New unwrapped toys can be dropped off until 3 p.m.

Roaring, open-header engines and giant whirling propellers -- what better way to celebrate Yuletide cheer?

A flotilla of airboats will descend on Lake Washington during....

what a slanted underhanded way to try to take the focus of what is beeing done,by the undertones in the article.
 
after a good sleep last night and a fresh thought in the morning. you are right country who cares. i bet a million bucks the kids that will recieve these gifts would not care one bit and probaly would not mind if thier was no exhaust system on a boat at all.and if they were asked they probably would rather ride an airboat than read the paper. lol

Well, I got my dander up when I read the article and fired off an email to the author. Turns our he enjoys airboat and off-roading as well. His comments were genuine. I pretty much chastised him for turning a good thing into a bad. Not his intent, I don't believe, but his statements could be easily misunderstood. My last reply to him was it amazes me how someone can read or hear something totally different than what I thought I said.
