Here's an article that was in the Tampa Trib this morning ---- since I'm boatless now, if any one is coming and has room for an extra, let me know

AIRBOATERS NEEDED: Airboaters are needed to assist in a crab-trap-removal effort in the lower Alafia River and the Kitchen area of Tampa Bay.

The project, organized by Tampa Baywatch with assistance from the Florida Airboat Association, will remove abandoned wire traps that biologists say act to trap crabs and fish long after their users lose them. The effort will take place Jan. 10 and Jan. 11, which Tampa Baywatch executive director Peter Clark said should offer extremely low tides, making it easy to see the exposed traps. The airboats are essential, Clark said, because conventional boats can't run in the shallow water where many of the traps are located on the lowest tides.

Airboaters interested in helping can volunteer by calling Wendy Valle at Tampa Baywatch, (727) 867-8166.
