Press Release to local media
Sportsmen and Conservationist of Alachua County Organize and Unite

On Tuesday night 7/12/05 at 7:00 PM approximately 200 Alachua County sportsmen and their family members came together at GTO Performance Airboats in Ocala to form a new organization dedicated to promoting conservation, protecting our rights as sportsmen, and keeping our waterways safe and accessible. Those in attendance were given a code of ethics emphasizing safety and courtesy that was to be a motto for membership.

Sportsmen from all over the state were represented by those in attendance to assist in this organization effort. Club officers were elected and board members appointed. The newly elected treasurer had opportunity to get busy right away as the donations and membership dues came rolling in.
