Airboating and Catahoula's .....

Cool video. I had never seen this before. It was filmed at Camp Mack, on the Kissimmee chain. I had a Catahoula at one time. Extremely intelligent and loyal dogs. He's been gone now for about three years and I still miss him.
 
We had a Catahoula and he was the most loyal dog we've had. If he heard our kids playing down at my mothers he would go lay at the gate until it was time for them to come home . He sure was a one man dog I mean he was great with my wife and kids but that dog was mine or was I his? Never know for sure.
 
I thought it was to good not to share here.


Thanks for all who has shown interest in our catahoulas also. They are one awesome breed. I will never own another type of dog.
 
Growing up one of my dad's cowdogs was a catahoula leopard gip. She was a good dog and a pretty good cowhunter. That darn dog was sneaky too. One of the smartest dogs my dad had.
 
Now were gettin sommers. Thats the kinda ride I wanna go on. Live band, Cajun misic and lots of dawgs hangin round. paradidse indeed. Hmmmm may have to look at a Catahula, won't be the first time I ever changed my mind LOL.

I got a catahoula now. I use him for blood trailling and a little pig hunting He`s awsome . In fact I told my daughters that their boyfriends don`t have to get by me just HANK. My only comment about the breed that could be remotly negative is he is just way too smart for his own good and he don`t like to ride the boat. In fact he dosn`t like any loud noises.
 
That's a cool song and video. Any song that mentions Sopchoppy Florida has to be one of my favorites!
 
I would like to see that video but when I click on the link I just get a yahoo ad where the video should be.
 
If you just do a Google search on Bellamy Brothers Catahoula, the video will come up as one of the first choices. Give that a shot.
 
Got my first Cat when I was 16 and had him 15 1/2 years. At one time in Collage we had 27 dogs over 1 year old and 13 puppies at one time and most were Catahoulas. We used them from hunting hogs, treeing dogs, and working cattle. Some would do one or two but not all three, and others just needed to be shown what was going on that day. For the past three years have not had one because I have not had the time to spend with a puppy, but when my son arrives in late March/ early April it he will be growing up with another. Of all the type dogs I have owned I could not think of a better one for a kid to have protect them, they are truely one person/family dogs!
