Our Buddy Brian is headed to Iraq tomorrow to train the U.S. soldiers and the iraqi's how to run airboats. He promised to take some pictures for us, so as soon as I get them I will share.
Have fun Brian, I can't wait to hear about the fun you are going to have.
Be safe!!!

Do you mean bigkavr? The Ohio Brian?

Godspeed Brian. Stay safe and HAVE SOME FUN! Teach 'em well.

Thats him. Bigkavr in Ohio. He is a super cool guy. We really have to get him down here on some of our runs.

Faron, are those the 454 powered boats? What prop did you put on 'em?

The Boats will be used for patroling swamps in the south east corner of Iraq I think it is called the Malaysian swamp *spelling error*

We went with 3 blade whirl wind stump pullers 78"

I will have alot more information in a couple weeks when Brian gets back.

Sweet 8) . Is that a machinegun mount stickin' up on the foredeck?

Zoom in. It's on the side of the boat, next to the seat.

Looks more like a fishing rod holder  LOL

I believe you're right, Matt ..... do they have Redfish in Iraq ?

I have no Idea what you guys are looking at. LOL
There is no fishing rod holders on these boats and they are going to do their own gun mounts. They didn't give me a lot of details, but these are a test. I assume they will be ordering more as soon as they see these in action.

We're messin' with ya', man. BTW, the boat you have in the classified on here? I don't think the ad says how big it is ..... looks to be about 16'.

Faron I guess I missed it somewhere in this or the other posts about these boats. Who bought them Army, MC, USN etc? I may get a chance to take alook when I get back here. For now I'm outa here for some Florida vacation on Wed. night.

Now I know I am just a girl, but what kind of mounts would one use? 50 calibur? What would that do to the weight up front? Would it be a one man set up? Seems like at least two ...I know they can build some pretty big airboats, but the weight just came to mind and proportioning it...what material would they use for the hull????

Val there are a LOT of options in todays military.

They could mount a singoe or twin .50 cal. Limitation here would be how much ammo they carry.

They could mount miniguns, but then they have the same weight problem with ammo.

Several 2.5 inch rockets would be lighter and simpler of they can figure a way to not fry the operator and passengers.

There atre 7.62mm SAW weapons

A host of toy gunlets in 5.56..

And likely 25 other things I havent thought of yet.

IM pretty sure guessing that American AB used aluminum for the hulls in these.

I've never seen a balanced military vehicle yet so I doubt if these will end up being any exception.
