i have a 16 foot freedomcraft good deep water hull how come i never see airboats in the inadain river flats??they make the perfect flats boat but i never see any out there except for the marine patrol

They are great on the flats. That is where we use them over here on the Gulf coast out of Yankee Town. The reds, trout and mullet don't stand a chance!

Boblee...Do you live in YankeeTown?? I spent many a summer there growing up. My uncle owns a house right on the river there. I can't remember the road name...but it's the road right at the city limit sign near the old school. He's the last house all the way at the end. I love that place!!!! Catching mullet off the dock with a cane pole and white grub pieces is hard to beat!!!!

That is a great hull, I had one when they were kennedy hulls. I have not been up to yankee town in a while. Is the Sir Isaac Walton lodge still there?

I GOT ONE TOO ! A 16 KENNEDY HULL ! I FLAT FISH SOUTH TAMPA BAY CANT BEAT IT JUST LOVE IT ! YOU GET BACK IN THEM HOLES FISH DONT GO NO WHERE! BUT HOME WITH YALL ! SCARE THE HELL OF THE MULLETT WITH MY GEAR DRIVE ! JUST MAKES IT A CHALLENGE !

The Issac Walton was supposed to close a few months ago but don't hold me to that.
BPS we live on the back- water on the Withlacoochee between Dunnellon and Inglis. It is hard to believe parts of Florida (like Yankeetown) were ever settled because of the sand gnats! That is a pretty drive along the river. My grand mother went to school in that old rock schoolhouse. She and anyone else that went there got a better education than you can buy today.
How could the founding fathers have picked such an appropriate name?

I have a 16' Freedom Craft too. I like it.It replaced an original Kennedy hull.

My uncle says that part of Inglis used to be called Cracker Town back in the day..so at one time you had Cracker Town right next to Yankee Town.... :p

Yep, the no seeums are bad but a lot of skin-so-soft and some yard spray keeps them at bay long enought to have a good time.

My cousins went to school there in the old school as well back in the 80's. From what I hear it is still a pretty decent place to go for that area.

Seems like I remember something about the Isaac Walton burning down. Crackertown was when you crossed Hwy 19, around the police department. Been fishing Yankeetown my whole life. Lows Bay, Eleven Prong, and Hells Half Acre were where I cut my teeth. No finer place to fish, IMO

Isaac Walton did burn down a few years ago. They built it back nice. Great views of the river.
