aircraft fuel system additive

Hi, i have a continental 0470 and use high octane unleaded pump gas mainly because that's what was used by the previously owner and av gas is over five dollars a gallon in my area. My boat seems to run very well. I am looking for comments on the pros & cons of the use of marvel mystery oil (mmo) in the fuel system. Sense I don't use leaded fuel which dissipate heat I am considering using mmo to help lubricate as well as reduce carbon buildup in the combustion chamber walls, valve guides, valve stems, and spark plugs. I have talked with a couple a/c engine builders and their comments were mmo was not a lead substitute but would not heart to use it either. has anybody ever used mmo in their a/c motor? thanks, ed

ed470,Avgas is 3.99 a gal at massey airpark in edgewater. take maytown to us1 to park rd then left on airpark rd.
Fill some cans and mix it with premium.
I have also heard of some folks using marvel mystery oil and adding it to premium as a top end lubricant.Maybe seminole wind will chime in on the MMO.He is an expert.

I use Lucas Fuel treatment in motor and it works great. My oil temp never went more than 180 and normally 140 to 160 range cruising. But MMO should be OK too. Need to get some lead additive going too if your not using Av gas. I have to run Av in mine.

thanks geneva 0550 on the av gas tip. i figured sanford a/p was a ripoff. is massy airpark open on the weekend?

this is just my opinion, but mmo is not the best suppliment to constantly use.it will not damage your motor because 1 pint to 20-30 gal. of fuel adds enough delution to not harm anything.marvel is more of a cleaning agent more that anything else.it is not an octain booster or lead addative.it can help an ailing engine keep compression standard across all banks to sustain power to a motor but is more or less a crutch until the motor finally gets to where it is noticible.it is not a bad product but like i said it is more a cleaner/ lubricator.try useing the 100ll a couple of tanks and i imagine it will feel like a new boat.

Marvel will not help with removing heat it will actually increase the BTU's produced, it will how ever keep your fuel system clean and lubricated. The higher the octane the cooler the burn, the lower the hotter. Why don't you mix AV gas with some premium to get the cost down. Also the lead in the leaded fuel wasn't for heat dissapation it was for lubrication and knocking. You could also try this product http://www.kemcooil.com/product_info.php?pId=130

470, just open the gate and pull on the runway by the pumps anytime. it has a card reader.they are right across the street from the everglades boats factory.
