Found another reason the high sheriff here in Alachua county has his pantys in a wad. He is in the middle of a serious divorce battle.
Also the paper said this morning that he was pissed when everyone left after the airboat discussion. He was to present his jail report after the airboat discussion. His comment was I guess no one is interested in his jail. DUH??
I rode Orange and Lochloosa yesterday and talked to several good friends that live right on Cross Creek. Did you know that all the state signs saying no wake, idle speed only have been removed from the Creek? The state guy that pulled them said they were not permitted and therefore illegal. So now the boats roar up the Creek until they see the bridge, and then slow down.
One other thing. I rode up to River Stix and found the cookie cutter has cut trails all over the area and also completely cleared the area around River Stix bridge. With all the talk about ecological damage the airboats do, how many gators, coots, fish and other critters are killed by that machine.
Has anyone discussed how the sound testing is to be done? I for one am not going to put my boat on the trailer and rev the motor unless the officer signs a paper saying he is going to be responsible if the motor blows up.
