Friday night a man died just like many do but this man was special not only was he loved by his family and friends but by all he had ever come in contact with.

This sounds exagerated but this man was a quiet, stong, and soft spoken man that by accident and fate became a hero.

He has had a hard life, back surgery, and burns on his body and failing health. With the wounds of life being excruciating he never complained.

Why am I putting pen to paper well, I am this mans son-in-law but he always treated me like his son. I could write about all the good times and memories that I have of him but those are only mine
and the savior.

You know him as Robert Marquis, Great Grandfather, Grandfather, father and hero. The man I hope to emulate and strive to live up to. I dont know about you but my life has been enriched forever by this
family man, this soft spoken hero.

all my love forever Dad, JEFF

I lost my daddy this weekend it will be very hard living without him. He was a wonderful father, he was a baseball coach, boyscout leader, carpenter, carpet installer, he loved to cook chili, loved his family and wife, and loved people..I hope God has a special place for Angels ....we all loved him so much not sure how mend the hole in my heart...he has me and my husband, 3 grandchildren and spouses, and 4 grandchildren all in Arizona...not including Donalds family we are kinda spread apart but that makes the heart fonder..I dont think any arrangements have been made yet so as soon as we know will let you know...Mom is not doing well with it all. I cannot believe how wonderful you all are so much caring from all over the country there are beauitful people in this world..
Dusty could you contact me want a tshirt with front view of dad with memory dates , call or email me

Thoughts and prayers for the family of a true American Hero! I cant' add much more, other than we never got to meet Bud or family, but I can at least now know Bud will be riding with us all and watching over us all.

Please accept our sympathies from Texas.

RIP Bull Frog Bud. I regret that I only got to meet you twice. At the December ride I told you I was new to airboating and just learning to drive and you said " It' ll come to ya" . At the BBQ I only got to say Hi, I was so looking forward to talking to you in December. You left your mark on so many people, In so many ways. You will surely be missed by all of us at AAoF and all the Southern Airboat Family. God give your family Peace.

I have been in Montana for over a week and when I saw this my heart just sunk, It was an honor to know the man and to have the privilege to have had a part in the restoration
of his boat and having a part in in letting the world know what a true American Hero he was. I am so glad that we all made his last few years happy, God bless his Family

I am at a loss. I am saddened and my heart goes out to Nancy and the rest of the family. I am so glad to have met Bud. I will always remember him and his glow as he lead the memorial ride on his boat. May he rest in peace.

Profound sadness was what I felt when my brother told me yesterday that Mr. Bud was gone. My deepest sympathy to Miss Nancy and the rest of the Marquise family. I realize though that now Mr. Bud will always be the man in this picture. His hair will never again be grey, his hands will always be strong, his heart will always be full, his eyes will always gaze on the place that brought such joy, and this is how we will remember Robert "Bull Frog" Marquise.

Painterchic called me Saturday night with the sad news. I could not begin to express anything more than has already been said here, but I'll try..
I only met Mr. Bud once, and that was at the ride last year. Upon introducing myself, he instantly said "pull up a chair and sit". We had a nice conversation and at that moment, I realized I was talking to a real, down to earth Gladesman and Hero. Not a Hollywood type hero, but a true "do your job and go on with life" hero.. I could only hope to be that humble......
Mr. Bud, you will be sorly missed, but you will be never forgotten!
My deepest sympathies to you Ms. Nancy, and your family. You, and your husband have enriched all our lives and I thank you for the opportunity and honor to have made your acquaintance.

With the utmost love and respect,

Brian

That article is the first I have heard that his injuries may have been from being hit by a car or being mugged! I certainly hope if thats the case the cops find the perp first, cause he won't have a chance with an airboater.

As long as an airboat slides and a prop spins Bud will live on.

I NEVER HAD THE CHANCE TO MEET HIM EITHER BUT READING EVERY THREAD THAT WAS POSTED ON HERE DAILY SURE MAKES ONE CLOSER. THAT ARTICLE WAS THE FIRST I HAD HEARD OF THE OTHER SIDE OF HIS ACCIDENT. IF IT TURNS OUT THAT BUD WAS HURT BY SOMEONE'S ACT OF SELFISHNESS. GOD HELP THOSE INVOLVED IF AN AIRBOATER FINDS THEM FIRST. HERE'S TO YOU BUD,GOD HAS GIVEN YOU FULL POWER BACK IN YOUR LEFT ARM AND RIGHT LEG AGAIN. SO KEEP THE PEDAL MASHED AND THE STICK MOVING. WE ALL WILL SEE YOU WHEN WE COME SLIDDING IN ON OUR BOATS ONE DAY.
