From the Aug 9, 2005 FWC field reports:

HENDRY COUNTY
At about 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, the operator of an 18-foot aluminum Bass Tracker lost control of the vessel while traveling in the Rim Ditch. A female occupant was ejected from the vessel, but the operator was able to stay in the boat as it traveled over the large rocks placed on the canal banks as rip rap. A passing airboat responded to a distress flare displayed by the operator. The airboat was able to recover the female victim who was struggling in the water. Injuries were minor and Officer Eddie Brown is investigating the crash.

I guess this should have gone under Airboat talk, but this was the first time I started a new topic instead of a reply.... I will get it right next time. Later in the report is a longer write up of an airboater who appeared to be intoxicated, fled, and put up a heck of fight before being subdued. I just couldn't bring myself to post it. It is the guys like him that give us all a bad name.
