Another cabin disappears!

Some call it Virgils, some call it the Blue cabin, some just call it the cabin. Anyway it is just south of 50. Or it was.... It is gone now. That baby saved me a bunch back in the Gooood Ol'e days. What a shame!

I hated to hear that. We've spent a lot of time there over the years. I ain't seen it yet, but I heard it burned to the ground.

We always called it Virgil's Cabin because it was built by Virgil Canada as far as we all knew. He's dead & gone now, but the Canada's are one of the biggest pioneer families in that area.

That's probably the one you're thinking of Vinnie...it was right there by PawPaw Mound.

Yeah that's the one I'm thinking of.
A couple of weeks ago Scott G and Scruffy Duffer and I were trying to out run a bad storm and blew up there seeking refuge but was afraid the place would fall in on us so we hauled butt.
The floor was gone and the pilings and foundation were in pretty bad shape.

I remember speck fishin with dad back in the sixties, from Poinsett, down
to Lk. Washington, and it seemed like there was a cabin on every bend.
I try to explain it to my kids, but they can't even imagine what it was like.
Dad had a name for everyone of them, and a lot of them looked more
like a home than a camp. sure do miss them days!!

At some of them cabins, I remember women hanging laundry on the line
and kids out plaing in the yard.I guess they lived there.
It was indeed a better time! LOOK AWAY, LOOK AWAY.
