Doesn't Sensenich have a 30 day satisfaction guarantee policy??

80" 3 blade R-series. But I have not ran one, just think they look sexy.

I just went thru the same process Duece, I have a boat very much like yours, same engine with 2.1 belt drive. I wanted a 78" 3 blade R series. Keith at GTO suggested
I try an 80" 2 blade R series with the understanding I could exchange for 3 blade within 30 days. Boy was he right. Set the pitch at the #2 pitch mark and could only turn it 4200 rpm. When I reset to 1.5 pitch mark it turns 4600 rpm and has a ton of low end. With your 2.68 gear you should be able to set the pitch at # 3 with no problem. If you can it will push like a D-8. So why don't you sell Robert your old prop and save yourself about $800.00 to boot. Thats a lot of beer and gas.JMO

My three blade 78" is set on 2 1/4 turning @ 4600 on the trailer with a 2.3:1 belt

My cruise speed in deep water and no wind @ 2900 eng. rpm 29-30mph---@3500eng. rpm 36-37mph---@4000 eng. rpm 43-44 mph---in skinny water @ 2200-2600 eng. rpm 18-20 mph.

The secondaries start to open @ 4450 and are wide open at 4600 top speed is 50 mph.

hope this helps

I believe there are other props available besides Sensenich

Might have been some of the none of the above :D

You have to get the pricing from one of the Sensenich dealers websites. Warp Drive doesn't even have a Website. You have to get pricing from a dealer there also.

i am not a prop engineer but here goes my feeble toughts.

if you stay with sensenich i would go the 3 blade k.it has less airfoil than the r blade which meens you will be able to ge the rpm range right.adding an extra ultrawide will turn your boat into a turd(jmo)i think you will get upset wih that combo.a 3 blade r is 13inch wide and its planform design is simillar to the superwide so in 3 blade form i think it will require more umph than your engine has.unless they can get you a cutdown r blade in say 76" then i think you would be on the money.

Deuce,

Trust me you don't want the trouble of trying to set and adjust a Warp Drive. Talk to AirJack he just changed from a WD to the new "R" and loves it. I run the same motor as you but with a 2.3:1 with the 78" 3 blade "K." I previously had a 2:1 and had to run my prop pitch about as flat as it would go, it would run strong but I changed it to what it is now so I could utilize more of my prop. Because of the swept tip design the H, Q, R & S series props are quieter but the hold HP differently. I would try the "R" I think you will be happy much snappier than the "K."

When I had the pitch set on 2 it turned 4800 on the trailer and when it was set on 1 3/4 it turned 5100.

Just some more numbers for you.

Try considering to that in the future If you plan to make any upgrades to your engine or one day get another engine with more power, sticking with superwides and adding another blade would be your best bet, simply because of your ratio 2.68 that is a good ratio for the superwide and the more power the better they run, if you do not plan to make any adjustments and do not like the idea of 4400 max rpm then the 3-blade R series would be a much better fix I would think.
You exchange your hub to a 3-blade hub used and 1 new superwide for right around $1000
or
Sell your 2-blade superwide and purchase a new 3-blade r series for around 2730 question then is how much do you ask for your 2-blade 1730 to make up the difference when they sale new for around 2200.

I'm not sure but maybe I helped a little

You need more stroke! i now a guy that has your same boat tried all kinds of set ups and was still comeing up short. He popped his zz350 and got a 383. he called me the other day and said he don't have no issue's anymore. i remeber from your past post that your 350 is a strong one but you still only have so much to work with. hope this helps and i know it cost $ .

DAGWOOD0520, good suggestion, that's one reason I went with the R-blade, plan on upgrading the engine real soon. :D

I am pretty interested in cutting someone a deal. I have a super wide three blade. I want the R blades. You buy the R blades and I"ll trade even. You save the difference from the SW blades versus the cheaper R blades. Mine are new no dings, nicks etc. They are 78". Just PM if you might be interested. They work awesome, I am just wanting to get more snap! Not that the super wide blades don't get her going in a hurry. I have the boat apart right now for powder coat so they are off and I'm ready to trade.

Here's my gut feeling.

With the 2.68 I don't think you're going to spin the R blades fast enough for maximum efficiency.

I don't think you have enough power for a third S blade.

I have my 3B set to about 2 1/4 and turn 5,200 wot. My boat does really well dry but is no speed demon.

3,500 rpm isn't all that high depending on how fast you're going. My boat will hold plane at 2,700 or so in deep water but with me, my wife, and all our junk loaded I typically cruise about 3,200. Loaded all the way with another couple on board I scoot along at around 3,600. sorry, don't have any mph numbers.

Duece I would find somebody who doesn't have a preference and has tested THEM ALL! I do know a few people making over 1,500lbs of thrust with 3 blades! I watched a 5 blade make over 2,200lbs. You should test or ride them all and then pick what YOU like!

I`m buying dixie`s blades tomorrow :D I have a buick 455 and 2.37 rotator, will this be a good set up or should I start looking for a 2.68 gear? I`m going from the psr blades by whirl wind to the s blades, will I notice a difference in my cruise rpm? and will it be up or down? thanks for the input.

By the way duece,I`ll have that prop tomorrow nite so if you want to drag your boat up hear I`ll let you use my hub and blades and you can try it out and see if you like it . Bring yours and I can run with ya,I`ve only got 1 hub or I`d keep my current blades on
