I have a chance to get a lease on 120 acres in Dafuniak springs. Is there good hunting up that way?I`ve never been there and don`t want to take the long drive if it is`nt worth it

I would investigate it in person. I know there is good hunting in the panhandle. It could be a great place.

Now after years of driving a long way to hunt.

My personal formula is - Drive time + Gas money+ who knows what goes on up there while I'm at work = NO.

I live about 45 minutes from defuniak, I have seen some good deer come out of there. I got a big doe over there year before last. You know how it goes though, some places that have good food and water sources and little pressure for an extended amount of time are likely to hold good deer, and on the other hand if they aint got nuthin to eat or drink theres liable to be nothin there. It depends on the land itself up here. do you know anything about the place? is it managed for hunting? Do you know exactly where it is? You can look at it on Google earth and that would help you make a descicion also. worse comes to worse I could possibly ride over there and check it out for ya, save you a trip.

The land has only been hunted by less than 10 people in the last 20 years, and never two years in a row. It`s suppose to be timber land,The guy that owns it hasn`t been there in about 12 years. He says it`s surrounded by other timber land for miles.I don`t have directions yet but when I get them I`ll send you a pm.Thanks for offering, that will save me a weekend for working on my boat

if you decide to pass on the lease please forward me the info. I've been lookin for one.......
