Anybody ever heard of a Collins Craft boat?

It was built in Pace Fl. Ever heard of it? It was a game dept. boat, someone said they used these as chase boats around Okeechobee , but this one was used around Lake City. I am gonna contact some folks I know in the Lake City office to see what size motor they had run on it. It needs alittle work, and cover up where they peeled the Wildlife Officer off the side of it. Its a 1977 Collins Craft, 14' long and 5' wide at the widest part, its small but I think it will do for 2 people. I might be wrong but it looks like it should float pretty skinny as long as I keep the weight down, and it should pole pretty easy. Doesn't look like its made for too rough a water tho. Well built with double floor and sides. Maybe a good freshwater speck boat? I'll post some more pics later after I've done some glass work and deck work to it. Later

Cajun, that looks to me like a sweet little flats boat ...... if it was used for patrol I'm sure it's good for both skinny water and two people. I'd be willing to bet that a 40 horse Yamaha would take you for a ride, too.

Yep, thats what I'm thinking. They had a 9.9 Mariner on it for a back-up I guess in case they broke down. I got the 9.9 and I'll probably sell it to go towards a 30-40 h.p.. I just thought it was a neat looking little hull , and I followed it from Lake City to Tampa a month ago to get a chance to buy it. I want to put maybe a casting deck on the front out of that real light weight foam core board, and maybe something on the rear also. I can't find any history of this hull any place. Later
