Anybody Got Pics Of A Mini with Jet Ski Motor?

Cajun

Well-known member
Wondering if theres any pics out there of a mini with the jet ski type motor? I am getting close and need to get some ideas. Later, Cajun

I've got a 15' hull, I was gonna get a 12' , but after talking with Paul Dixon last night, he said at least a 14 x 48 so that it had more displacement, and not sit so deep in the water, and it would come up on a plane alot easier. His smallest hull is a 14 x 7 glass with the 35 Briggs. So Goldhunter if you think this 15' will do, then we can get moving when ever you are ready. Let me know. Thanx, Cajun

your making up the displacement with the extra length rather then width but the wider the bottom the more stable the boat would be, as long as we try to keep the center of gravity as low as possible it should be fine.

I can't do it Thursday or Friday , when are you heading up the road?

I am pretty much open as to when I run to N.C. and when I go I'll be leaving on a Fri. morning and coming back that same weekend, Sun. night.

We are gonna build a puddle jumper using a jon boat and a jet ski engine ( 650 c.c.) Yamaha.

was thinking I may could go Friday now or maybe Sunday or the next weekend ,but the kids start school the 20th so week days are out and the X should get the kids the 1st and 3rd weekend next months so what ever works best for you.

cajun i was just going to ask u said u talk to the paul dixon im just curious if u asked him what type of props he's found to push his mini best with the low hp motors.. and on one of the other post i made someone put a link to a hover craft prop site.. and they look pretty sharp ... dose anyone know wat kind of R's hover craft fans are rated for? dosn't seem like u would need as much power to push something that was floating on air with no drag compaired to something floating in the water with lots of drag...

thanks
-randy

No I didn't ask him about the props, but he told me to call him back if I needed more info. Are you coming Fri. ???? And if so about what time do you think you will get here??? I've been staying up late working in the shop 2-3 a.m. its cooler, but will cut that alittle short so I can get up earlier. Later, Cajun

TCL,
you would be surprised how much air it actual takes for them hovercrafts you have to build up the lift air on most single engine ones before you can move. the advantage they have on some of the newer blades is they are adjustable.
Not sure but he maybe using those R&D props out of blaky ga , there price is right and there probably better suited for these smaller engine applications but there are the other wood makers who also make smaller props on request arrow, sensenich etc..

Cajun,
yep I was planing on heading over early in the morning if that's still good, will call you in a few minutes

Hey bud, I missed your call, and will try to remember to call you about 9:00 p.m. Yea tomorrow is fine with me. Just give me an idea of what time you should get here in my area. About what time you are leaving there too. So if you have any problems I can come to you. You will have some goods going back with you. Later, Cajun
