I LIKE THE SLEEK LOOKS AND CURVES OF THESE HULLS , THEY REMIND ME OF A PALMBEACH HULL BUT WITH HIGHER SIDES , LOOKS TO BE A LIL MORE STABLE IN THE DEEP WATER THEN A PALM BEACH HULL... CAN ANYONE GIVE ME SOME PERSONAL EXPERINCE'S FROM RIDING/HUNTING THESE HULLS ? HOW ARE THEY RUNNING THE DRY ? HOW DO THEY DO IN DEEP WATER ? WEIGHT ? ECT .. THANKS ,ANY INFO GOOD OR BAD IS GREATLY APPRECIATED....

Just ordered one for myself, was taken for a ride on one and that made up my mind! Had been looking at several different hulls but the hammant took the cake so to speak.

hey Rick can you tell me a lil more on how the boat road in the deepwater and dry and such.....thanks Dusty

I gotta tell yall, I love my green gator boat, but the next one will be a Hamant. That thing is just pure sexy.

I own a 14 X 8 Airboats Inc. complete rig. Its my 2nd boat. Its light, responsive, and smooth riding. It has one of Thunders LS1 engines on it. Runs dry with four 200 plus pounders on board, one 55 lb dog, cooler with ice, and 2 cases. When I say run dry, I mean starting from dry ground @ a dead stop and going, not coming out of the water and gunning the throttle over dry ground. On its maiden voyage I ran thru Gardners Marsh when it was bone dry with a 360+ lb passenger (sorry Craig if I'm off on the weight) with much ease. Just so everyone understands the conditions, it was 3:45pm, and dusty, grass dying dry. I never took it past 4500 RPM. Now, running dry with one or four people has a lot to do with the powertrain, which all credit goes to Dave on that. As far as how the boat is set up and built is awesome. Every weld is neat and squared propery. The quality control on this boat is the best. It has walk boards with storage compartments. It has approx 28-32" sides and handles a wake or rough water with ease. I was on my way to another boat manufacturer when someone told me to stop by Airboats Inc. It was on the way to where I was going, so I stopped in. I'm sooooooo glad I did. There is a pic (several) of the boat in my gallery. If you are in a hurry, go somewhere else. If you want a superior quality boat that will last a lifetime goto Airboats Inc. Make sure you get an LS1 too. There comes a point and time where money and quality collide. This is one instance where you get WAY MORE than you pay for on both the boat and motor.

I like the way they look myself. Never ridden in one though, never been in nothing but glass so far.

JL,

Looking very seriously at building a boat similar to yours when gator season is through. I have heard though the 14x8 hulls are heavy. How would you say it would compare with a 13 ft glass hull. (I currently run a 13x8 apache which is a pretty heavy hull). I want the load carrying compacity of a big hull but still would like to be able to run the hill like a smaller hull.

D-Brewster,

I believe that CChardt's boat is a Hammant

He swears by them and nothing else.

Think he's out in the woods till....the holiday is over?
Might wanna pm him.

CChardt's (Chris) boat was the one I went for a ride on, He stopped in deep water, held on to the drivers right side hand rail and basically hung over the side and all the boat did was bob alittle. Ifin I did that on my hull now I would be swimming with the gator's!!!
Have seen several of these hulls run dry out on the river and they seem to do it with no problem. I live in between Panther and Diamondback (both make nice boats) but after seeing a Hamant in action my mind was made up. I decided on the Hamant. Just my opinion.

I can't ever recall anybody saying one negative thing about a Hammant.

The hulls, nor the company.

Anytime I've ever seen one run, it looked like they did darn nice!

I can't seee anything wrong with them.

I don't own one, but I suspect anyone who does is gonna say get one.

Don't think twice about it.

Heck,
If I could just let go of my Palm Beach hang-ups, I would'nt mind owning one.

Don't know if that will ever happen though.

Cowboy, I'll bet they'd be happy to build you a small deckover for one of those radials ...... 8) .

There are 2 deckover supercharged 540 Hammant built boats that run the same marsh I do. They are both owned by veteran airboaters with a lot of seat time and enough $$ to buy the best of anything on the market. There must be a reason they chose Hammant to build their custom Hot Rod ride boats.

cfth, when my boat is on the ground one able person can grab the grass rake and move the boat while straining quite a bit. 2 able people can grab the grass rake and spin the boat completely around. I have been in somewhat deep water, and towed a boat back in with 4 people walking around on the walkbaords. Didn't come close to taking on water even with 3 guys on one side. Floats and stays stable under low throttle. I just feel that no company can come close to the quality control that Doug and Wade stand for. They put their heart and soul into every boat. Go by any Airboat manufacturer and see how many people are working. Go by Airboats Inc and see how many people are working. If you do that, it will make your decsion easy.

I've been running a Hamant hull (14x7.5) for the last (10) ten years.

On of the first things clients say is how stable & dry the hull is.

Right now Super Dave Bertosi is repowering it with a fully rebuilt 0540/285hp.

I've never had a below the water seam crack or leak.

The only (2) two places where a weld has crack is @ the top of the transom near the triangle support piece.

Sorry i have been out of town but I found that when i went from a fiber glass hull to the hamant hull they ride better than the fiber glass I would not trade it for any thing! mine rides like a caddillac and I don't have any problem running deeeep water or 2 ft white caps boat handles great and the wife said that she is comfortable on it all the time . So if she is fine with it, it must be good

and safari rick will see how much better his boat will be when he gets his new one
