Anyone been riding in Area 2A recently

I have not been out there Grumpy, but last I heard, a couple of weeks ago it was real dry.

You probably know it's been raining down there pretty good.

RDM0470 told me today that the canals are getting full, and the waters is getting pumped West. He's a little further south of 2a.

Guess it may be getting better.
Wish I had better info for ya, but someone will come along here who does.

grumpy, cowboy,

Yeah the canals here in Collier are full too!

Every night I look out to the glades,(what am i talkin about, i live off of Everglades blvd) and see the rain there too.

Rained everyday here right on schedule for 2 weeks straight except for 2 days. Should be gettin better out there?

I haven't been out in quite awhile so I can't give you firsthand knowledge of the levels. I do monitor the levels using this website:

http://www.saj.usace.army.mil/h2o/reports/r-wca2.html

There are two sites I pay attention to......Site 2-17 is north of the east/west trail approx. 5 miles out, and Site 2-19 is about halfway down the levee trail near Wiles Road. Last time I was out the level was 11.65, and the ride was okay. Unless you're adventurous and don't mind pushin', I'd wait till the level was at least 11.5. My experience is that when the level gets below 11 feet, bring your 4-wheeler. As Site 2-17 is north of Site 2-19, and the water flows north to south, it's levels are usually a bit higher. I usually split the difference.

Over the years, I've seen it fill up quick. This year it's been slow. But I know it rained like heck today, and there's more comin' tonight, so check the numbers tomorrow and Saturday. They update them every night.

Hope this helps......

Ran it on the 4th of July. From Sawgrass north to Willards, its fine for a boat with any gumption at all. From Willards to Boars head and to Neverrest, its fine although its a bit dry at Hog Heaven. (whatever the new name is) . Usuallt 2-3 inches around. Regards, Maddog

I don't know how much rain runs to the south from Highlands county but we had one of the worst rains in years yesterday evening. Over 6" in some parts and more on the way today.

Yeah, I have been watching those water monitoring sites. The rain has been coming down pretty good this week, but the gage stays at 10.97

Yes...I noticed 2-19 sticking at 10.97 for a long time now.......you'd think those Water Management guys would look at that as an excuse to get their airboat out.......

Site 2-17 seems to be okay though. Couple more days like today, and it'll be good to go!!!!

Another 3 inches of rain in Highlands today. Fisheating Creek should be coming up soon. It will all be going to Lake O in the next few days. Maybe once the lake level is up they will start releasing some water.

The dike is in bad shape at Myaca, and I suspect they will be trying to keep the lake levels low this summer incase of a bigboomer aproaching from the West.

Wilma put a whoop'in on it just South of the lock area.

I wonder if they arent discharging water righ now.
