Re: Red River, the tan boat in the pics on the main page was originally built for me with a kawasaki 55 hp engine that we had nothing but trouble with so we scrapped it. When I went up to check out the rig I was very impressed with the boat but the motor sucked. Now he only uses Rotax engines on his small rigs and just let me say it will run circles around any kawasaki.
He put a Rotax on the tan boat and has now sold it but I opted for a new rig built as follows which is a little more expensive than the tan boat but I need the power. 13'x60" hull, rotax 582 (65hp) w/ 4 to 1 gearbox reduction and gonna spin a powerfin 4 blade 72" prop. This one should do the trick.
I'll report back once I've had a chance to test run it.
