Aquatic Weed Spraying?

Anybody have experience spraying noxious aquatic weeds from an airboat? I'm considering starting up a side business and was wondering about how to charge, applicator's licenses, etc.. Thanks

I still have my old spray machine but used it for a different application, but if you need to see one up close your welcome to look at it . basically you have to figure your cost by sq ft or yard of area you are spraying that will difference on different spray mixes also an you add in fuel and license, insurance etc.. to get you base number then add in your profit margin an that is what you bid. your material cost will determine how well you can compete

Dan, these guys have been spraying the Withlacoochee backwater for at least the last 15 years under contract for the state (things aren't any better but they have spent a pile of money).http://www.appliedaquatic.com/index.htm They had some neat pictures of there spray rigs. I think the first step is to contact the EPA in your area and ask them. The guy that oversees the spraying and permitting on the Withlacoochee is Terri Sullivan in Brooksville with the FDEP.He can point you in the right direction. Applied Aquatic can give you his number if you can't find it by other means.

Dan, if you would like I can send you a bunch of pictures of spray boats. I can link you up with a couple companies that do it now. We also have experiance using the boats for spray applications. Stan worked for the St. John's River Mgmt. as a kid spraying.
Send me an E-mail with questions and I will get you direct answers.
