Hay guys I am going to come down to Florida for about 7 days I am going to be staying at my familys place in Jupiter and would like to go ride area 2a I thik it is and would like to know how to get there from Palm Beach County any body wanting to meet up with me just pm me with your phone number and we will meet up.

Hey sniper, I can get you directions to any/all of the public boat ramps that access the Everglades. You are correct area 2a would be the closest to jupiter, BUT if you are coming all the way from Georgia and want a really good impression of the Everglades I would recomend area 3a. I don't want to step on anybody's toes (Hey Doc) but area 2a is relatively small (130,000+ acres) and there ain't alot to see, there are quite a few camps and alot of sawgrass and cattails, however there are very few tree islands and not much cypress. You can cover most of it in a couple hours and when I go I usually don't use a tank of gas. Area 3a is the largest of the conservation areas, it goes from the Palm Beach county line to the north all the way to Tamaimi Trail/ Everglades National Park to the south. My favorite ride is from Alligator Alley west of the Miami Canal you go south and west along the edge of the miccosuke? indian reservation through the cypress heads and next to the Big Cypress National Preserve. On this side I usually run out of time or fuel before I want to. The difference is about 40-50 minute drive. All this is just one guys opinion and I know what they say about opinions... I will help you out any way I can, let me know what you want to do. Maybe I can find the time to go for a ride while you are here.

2a or not 2a or 3... airboat4fun is right. 2a is smaller, but also less chance of getting lost. In area 3 you have to be careful not to stray on to the Reservation, they are serious about their borders. For 2a from Jupiter take I95 south to Palmetto Park Road in Boca Raton, go west to US 441. Go south on 441 to Loxahatchee Road. Go west on Loxahatchee road until it ends in a dirt road. Go to the top of the hill and turn left and go down the dyke to the airboat launch area. For area 3 take I-95 south to I595 west, continue on and follow signs to I75 north/Alligator Alley. Go thru the toll booth and run out to Mile Marker 41 and look for the ramps. I always ran on the south side, you will have to do a U-turn across the median to get there... have never been ticketed for it with a boat. Either or both areas will be a great time for you. Take a GPS if you have it and mark your launch point. I wish I was not inbetween boats right now. Give us some dates and times and someone on here may show you around or I will try to hook you up with some guys I know who are still running these areas. Also bring a marine radio if you have one. Most of the airboaters monitor channel 69 if you get in trouble.

Sniper, after my first visit last week there, I too agree another area might be more enjoyable. Then again if you really want to go there, let me know what day your thinking of.

2 is boring to me, but can be fun for a newbie. Bring along an extra 10 gal of gas and go ride south of the alley. After the first fifteen minutes it gets' real nice. If you can follow a trail, and use a GPS your fine. All my years going down there, I have never seen any Micosukkee indian boats or patrol. Plenty of nice folks who would take you around.

Sniper,

Been to 3A three times so far. It is huge like everybody else here said. Even with GPS finding the ramp can be a challenge due to getting off the trail, (most are marked).

Pick a date and I'll try to make it too.
