AUTO METER GAUGE QUESTION

Well-known member
ive got a complete set of auto meter PRO COMP. MARINE gauges and looking at them it doesnt seem like they are sealed....when i have my dash built should i make a sealed plexy cover or are they actually sealed ??
thanx everybody, tom

You could get one of those nice covers that are made out of clear vinyl (like a rain cover). That may be what they are called I'm not sure. Mine mist up afer a rain or in the morning.

HEY T MY BUDDY HAS THE CARBON FIBER ONES ! THEY FOG A LITTLE BUT CLEAR UP ! JUST MY THINKING SORT OF GOT TO HAVE A VENT SOMEWHERE TO GET FOG OUT !

I run my autometer phanton gauges exposed with a bead of silicon around them. They get exposed to salt water, rain, cold, and vibration all duck season without any trouble.

My gauges are all in a control box. Every once in a while I will get some fog in them. When this happens I just turn my gauge lights on for a little bit and it burns out the moisture. If that does not work just hit them with a hair dryer for a sec and they are fog free.

i know our boats might be barges, but hell i never though about bringing a hairdryer with me on rides! :D
