avoiding companies having money issues

But no one can say anything bad about any companies on this site so, watch out for yourself it's easy to be fooled.

What I have learned is only order directly from the supplier. Or with airboat builder that pumps out over 100 boats a year. No little shop using the next guys money to finish last months deal.

Alway order directly!

If they are making 100 boats a year they sure aren’t bucking rivets, just wire feeding soft aluminum.

True craftsmanship only comes 1 hull at a time and it takes a partnership with the right builder. Might even need to buck some rivets yourself.

X2 sliding hit the nail on the head in my opinion
Not sure how the thread started or edited even something seems like it may have gotten regulated by the mods even maybe???? But i understand and agree on the sticking with a good well grounded company especially if your a bit gunshy or you cant just swing by and check on your build ,
Im a 1 man show so to speak but in the world of cell phones and emails your boat hull or project is just a snapshot away no matter the miles , thats what i do with customers, no doubts worrys or ifs!!! And if they dont pick up the phone or txt then ya i get stay away. But i only build maybe 10-12 complete boats a year not including hulls and service work but man ive never had 1 customer ive ever delt with leave with the honest ability to say they've been screwed, have i had to eat some jobs ,,,, ya , sure , have i been late on a due date ... yep it happens , but if your up front and honest with customers they understand and get it , hell.. i had a customer come around and kick the tires for months wanting a boat. Finally we put something on paper started building and 18k later he dipped out... i finished the boat and tried to recover what i could , and yes if i wanted to be a pain i could've blasted them on the web or took them to court but sh$%t happens , i do business on a mans word and a honest handshake and i will take that to my grave , is it the smartest business wise .. nope , but i still have faith in honest people and thats how i do it , if thats not popular well i guess im not the brightest but just how i was raised , there are a bunch of money hungry sharks out there but if you do your due diligence and with a little common sence you can have a good experience with many good down home companys out there !

call me next time you have a rivited deckover you want to get rid of... as long as its not painted some ugly color I'm in.
