Swamped my boat and recovered it. Pacemaker ignition not responding. Will it dry out and work or is replacement of ignition module only solution.
 
It should dry out On its own but if it don’t give Darren a call and he will talk you through the process of getting it dried out it might dry out on it’s own but if it don’t give him a call He is very helpful and knowledgeable with his product
 
Thanks for info. Dried it out and it works fine. That's one darn good system!! Now if new garmin 742xs has same results I will be happy. It was fresh water and only about 12' deep. Guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. 😬
 
Yes sir it fired up. We pulled bottom plugs and cleared cylinders then drained crankcase. Flushed with gas then diesel. Drained carb bowl replaced drain plug and put Four quarts oil in and spun engine without spark plugs. Drained that oil and filled with new oil. Installed plugs and fired it up. One big problem was the fact that we couldn't kill it. Lol. Disconnected battery but must have been back feeding through alternator. Finally ran out of gas. Still got some drying to do. Any suggestions for gps system.
 
That Garmin unit is rated IPX7, good for 3 feet of immersion. They warranty them not to leak, put in a claim.
 
RIP list. Amp gauge ,100%duty solinoid that was use for master switch&gps system. Other than that it's up and running great. Lesson learned and paid for so it's back to school. Ain't life grand!!

Dumping a hot and running AV engine in the water is rough on the exhaust valves. They can crack around the seat or the seat can pop out. BOLO for a mis. Give it a compression and/or leak down test after you run it hard.
 
Mr Kwan to answer your question, yes it was running when it went down. I am fortunate tho in the fact that my brother is a licensed pilot and aviation mechanic. He has been invaluable to me in maintaining my av 0540. The lycombing engine is one tough dude!! Thanks for passing on the knowledge and wisdom you have gained from Years of air boating.
 
Guess I should clarify that I was in the boat but not piloting the boat when it went down. Let someone drive and it went south quick.
 
Found this old thread about sinking my boat. As usual you ole timers hit it dead on. Exhaust seat took a dive and backed out. Checking valve but might be bent.
 
Dang that sucks. Glad no one was hurt.

I recently tried to let my wife drive for the first time. We were in the shallows coming out of dead river into lake cypress. I told her to head south and stay in the shallow water. She hesitated and said, while pointing her finger, that she didn’t want to drive towards that boat. I looked in the direction she was pointing and said “honey, that ain’t a boat it’s a small patch of trees.Now go ahead and get back into the back seat”

Sorry to be right, it comes from experience. You should be looking for more than just 1 new cylinder cause I don’t think you are done dropping exhaust seats.

Just sayin.

Which cylinder went down? #3 or 4 would be my first guess.
 
Slidin gator I don’t know how to tell you that inf. If looking at prop it was middle left cylinder
