I have a jig made out of 1" chanel with locks that will bend 7 ft wide hoops also seen it done with ply wood , works well eather way. if your close to any air boat shops they will usually bend them for you cheep.
My dad and I have been using the end off of a large wire spool for about 20 years now. You make a loop from strap to hold the pipe and bend it to your desired shape. We use a chalk outline on the ground to get the radius right and the hoop flat, usually works real well.
Thanks larry ,I was thinking about that other day .I was going to build one out of plywood .but my freind has a spool in his back yard. its 6ft 11in just perfect . Thanks, The check is in the mail.
Around here, we use the ring on the top of a fruit barrel.. You know the tubs that they throw the fruit in while picking it off the tree, there is a strong metal ring all the way around it, it perfect!
i have seen it done several ways. with a 6' mower bending around the deck, an old junk cage as a jig, but it must be straight, and even a 2000 gal fertilizer tank.
