Hi. I am new to the airboat scene and here in northern michigan airboats are pretty rare, anyways we picked up an old tour boat down in florida for hunting and generally running around the swamp.

so far we have got it stuck a few times, it will almost make it accross the marsh grass but not quite, the last time our jet outboard johnboat was able to easily pull it off with the airbout throttled up. so I am hoping one of you guys can give us some advice on what prop or other means we can use to give it a little more get up and go power. we dont need to run dry ground, really we just need to cross semi flooded marshgrass/cranberry bog areas to get from the river to the highground.

the boat is a 16 foot aluminum, no polymer, with a 500 caddy and a wood prop mounted direct on the crank. hope you guys dont mind helping a yankee, but there just isnt anyone to ask around here so we decided to ask the experts.

I would try a 2 blade power shift I've seen a caddie boat with a 2 blade run every where my boat ran,and his ran better

Well I believe if ya'll look around on this site there are a few threads on dd cadillac motors and a composite prop will work lots better than wood and spin up faster. That will be a good start if you look with the search engine on here and find all the cadillac stuff.

What size and pitch prop do you have? where in michigan are you from? I live in southern mi. I have a couple of extra props if you want to try another.
