Bilge pump(s)

Think I'm gonna put two pumps in mine. More GPH seems like better. How much should I be looking for? I want every chance to avoid sinking this thing

I put a 2in in the center stringer and the cheap ones in every other stringer I couldnt say how many time I have need them all. I usally let the cheap ones run whenever Im underway and have a float on the monster pump, I do hnow its an over kill .

When water is comming in, there is no over kill. Good pumps are important, the same as insurance---very cheap when you need them. I use two large ones.

Red - I would recommend at least 1500 GPH bilge pumps, 2000 GPH is better, that is like 30+ gallons per minute. Rule brand is fairly good.

Hint: Put a piece of screen around the bottom of the pump and zip-tie it in place. It will keep some of the trash out of the pump and make it last alittle longer. However it does reduce the pumping capacity. And Harvey is correct about the smooth hose. Flood the hull in your yard and time filling a 5 gallon bucket with corragated and smooth hose, it does make a difference.

red http://www.classicairboats.com sells a 3700 GPH part #35-37000 for $95 and a 2000 GPH part #35-36301 for $65 and I would highly recomend mounting it they have a nice aluminum bracket for $20 part #35-36407 when you take water on you dont want your pump upside down or wires pulled out by whatever you just did to start taking that much water on
