Boat hull?

I am thinking of up grading to a larger boat and I don't want to mess around with another headache boat, I am just wondering who makes a good boat 16-18 feet long, deep sides, and 7 and a half feet wide. It has to be alluminum so I can run on ice. Any suggestions or links would be great.

American Airboats builds alot of boats for running ice. You should talk to Farron about it for sure. He will give great advice even if you don't have them build you one. I got a prop from him and had an excelent experience.

i've seen a few of the Rhino hulls that Faron builds. i don't think that i could even tear one up. they are built very strong. i hear that they perform very well, but i have never been in one. plus, faron is a good guy to work with. i bug him all the time and amazingly he still calls me back every time i leave a message!!!!

If your going to run the ice, make sure the SIDES are 3/16" thick.
The ice will cave them in if they are only 1/8".
Also, you need Poly on the sides.
Every boat up here in Minnesota that has 1/8"sides are caved in.
EVERY ONE of them.

In my opinion

1/8 Sides do great in Ice but will need specific Ice Bracing.

By going with 3/16 sides you are adding additional weight that is not a plus for Ice Running. *We do not offer 3/16 Sides

Our Rhino Hull is designed for Ice. It has a Lifetime warranty, 1/4 Bottom
1/8 Sides *all marine alloy 5086

7 to 9 t-bars depending on other specifications

30" Deep sides

Dual I- beam Mid-ship Braces (not t-bar)

*Special Ice Bracing in rear of hull that is most vulnerable to Ice.

Thanks for the support guys, I'll do what I can to help,
if you want to call me.

bandkiller, you're gonna have to call him cause there are several specifics he's gonna ask you which could vary the price several thousand dollars. such as: engine, prop, seating, paint, rigging material, etc.....just call him. he's a hell of a nice guy. i'd get the quote now cause no telling what'll happen to the prices once he starts feeding those twins!!!!! lol, just kidding....

  ...... yup, them boats might be gettin kinda pricey in a few more months.

Good one, Duck.
