I looking @ coming over from Texas to see the show this March. Need help. How big of a show is it? where is a good place to stay? What are some other thingss to see. Any of the paces to look @ boats or buggies? I am mainly looking for boat in the 16 to 17 ft long by 8 with 454 or bigger. would like a 2.68 gear box. & looking for a buggie to carry 6.

It's first rate!!! It's the biggest one that I have ever seen. You will see lot s of boats. There are alot of high dollars car motor boats as well as AC boats. This is like a Corvette or mustang car show. It is a big deal for airboaters. There was about 5 buggies for sale at the Palm beach show last month. A lot of the buggies will be there.
It is at the Bass Pro Shop. Finding a place to stay should not be a problem. They have every hotel/motel you can think of.

If you like to look at hot chicks on the beach then you will have to cruise down Los Olas for some eye ball liberty!!!

The IGFA is next door.
If you want to gamble the Hard Rock is just a few miles away. The one where Anna use to hang out in.

There will be boats for sale. You just never know till you get there.

Orlando, Cocco and Melbourne are home of the manufactures that make the bigger boats you are looking for.

Come on down. You will be glad you did.

The show is the weekend of March 24 / 25

But Thin - they set up everything Friday night then build a very secure fence around it. So if you want to show something INSIDE the show, you have to be there Friday night I'M PRETTY SURE.

Check the participation forms - here's a link to the show flyer - and from there you can find the entry forms.

If you are in Texas - GIT OVER HERE!!!! It's the WORLD'S LARGEST (BROWARD COUNTY) AIRBOAT SHOW.

Some more info for those travelers interested in coming - or locals too. I don't discriminate!!!

This place is located just south & west of the Ft. Lauderdale / Hollywood Int'l Airport.
If you are seeking a hotel, odds are good you'll find a room close to the airport - which is close to the show. Get a rental car anyway - there's a lot to see besides the show.

The fact that the Bass Pro is tucked into a nearly dead end parcel fronting onto the interstate (and that commuter train station) really made it confusing for me the first time I went there. Hopefully, you can see the pathway in the aerial photo and save some of that confusion.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the map, it sure is a long ways down and over from Tampa but I just might
go. Can anybody some names of a place to rent a room. There was one room left at the hotel up the street from the show(over 300.00) for one night, I would not be able to sleep all night long if I paided out that much money for one night

Dudley

Hey Dudley,

Yeah the four hotels RIGHT there at Bass Pro are very expensive. Thank goodness I have lots of friends to bunk with! Anyway, go to mapquest and type in your address and the destination address, 400 gulfstream lane, it will bring up your directions, then you'll see a box for on line offers, click on Dania Hotels, you will get a big list. You can refine the search on there to be within a certain number of miles, you decide how close or far you want to be....................it's worth your trip from Tampa!

Good luck!

After looking at motels briefly yesterday. looks like the best shot may be to look a lodging along State Road 84.

That's about two exits North of the show location.

I'm not done checking into it for Rick and Dakota.
Perhaps some local Southern Airboaters will have better advice on a clean safe place to stay.
