When we were riding around Lake Kissimmee on the way to the Milk Bus, we stopped at "the ridge" I overheard someone call it. This where the BIG DOGS were, is this THE BULLSHIT HILL ?[/img]

No, BS Hill is on Lake Hatchineha at the mouth of the canal leading to Lake Cypress. You weren't too far, just needed to be in the next lake to the north.

just to be clear the BIG DOGS are the bad ass boats with the most power and are not afraid to show it as they easily run dry ground for miles and climb hills that would make a 4X4 cringe. As the old saying goes..."if you can't run with the BIG DOGS you might as well stay on the porch".

Oh Yeah!

Saw a few of those big dogs on Saturday when at the Jamboree! One in particular that I had to wipe my drool off of....

14 X 7.5 aluminum hull with counter rotator with 572 Chevy with nitrous oxide fuel injected! Bad to the Bone!! Woof! Woof!

was that the Diamondback ALL done up with aluminum everything, padded diamondstiched cover over the inside of the grass rake that looked like it could double a bed, and the rudder art inside and out with "Jokers Wild" being towed around by the matching Hummer? (yea, DROOL, I checked it out a little). I ran out of space on the cameras memory card and couldn't get a picture, but I will remember that one for sure. A couple more things I noticed on that boat were the MSD, Long belt drive, not just the counter rotator but it had 2 wide Powershift props-every other one I've seen has had 1 Powershift inside and 1 Sensenich (narrow) outside, I heard that was because off clearance issues. With the motor in the bottom of the boat where the gas tank usually is, I looked for the tank and found 2 long ones along the side of the boat under the storage hatches and walk arounds. I can't imagine how much $$$ went into that boat, my first house only cost me 72,000, I bet his boat is REAL close.

Well I went to the ridge saturday afternoon and chose a rather steep portion of it to drive up. while I was sitting up there another boat came along and tried to climb the same spot. He had a small block and stinger box and guess he figured all small blocks are the same. Well after not making it several times they changed drivers and the new one decided a more speed was needed prior to contact with the shoreline. This was a bad choice the other fellow had already almost rolled his boat and this guy managed to do it. No one was seriously hurt and the boat was still drivable after some pulling and repositioning the cage. The prop survuved the contact with the ground and the sudden stop of the prop didnt break the motor or gear box. There were several other boats that tried it also and didn't make it but at least they didnt try the speed approach.

I venture from looking at the operators of the boats beer was a factor for sure. It really helps our image to be driving your boat slumped over glassy eyed and holding the stick in one hand and a beer in the other. There was another boat up there that had a sober driver and the drunks were spraying sand all over us when they went by on the lower levels absolutely no consideration for anyones safety.

I talked with a game warden over there and he said he had found the airboaters he had checked to be very courteous and basically in compliance. he said there were a few exceptions but for the most part he was impressed. I guess he should have been at the ridge huh. I didnt get his name but he seemed reasonable and basically was just envious of the boats he was seeing. His boat was an absolute piece of crap leaking oil and raggedy looking rigging. He had been stuck earlier and had to unload all his stuff and use the old rope on the throttle trick.

Many on Lake Kissimmee on Saturday were not in the KRVSA Poker Run.

There were outstanding boats there - Jokers Wild, An American Bad Boy, Mark Jurnigan's deck over, Try This and plenty of others.

I counted 104 at the Milk Bus at one point.

There will always be the small minority and they were on the lake on sat.
