Stan,

I got about 20 or 30 "all beef"/no soybean burger patties and 20 or 30 all beef hotdogs. Me and Ms Basketcase can get the buns for those. Can ya' bring the "White Trash Condo" grill?

Can anybody bring sides?

Can somebody bring breakfst grill stuff?

I would bring food again, but it looks like I wont be able to make it after all. My puppy is sick (been in the ER for the past 4 days.) She is going to need surgery and I will have to stay home and take care of her if she makes it. It has been such a long week.
*Sorry I can't make the run.

Dang Faron! That's terrible. We hope all works out for the best.

Best wishes and good luck from...

matt & laura.

Faron, sorry about the dog....

Stan, I shot a nice meat hog this morning. If you want, I'll bring whatever you want from her. I have ribs, backstrap, loins, and the hams and shoudlers.

Just let me know so I can freeze the rest.

What kind of "sides" do you guys want??
I'm staying at Camp Mack, not camping on the "Bus" --too much gear to pack and I will be in someone else's boat. (I would like to do this sometime in the future however!)
Ya'll let me know what you want me to bring! Charity, Laura, Dawn, Teresa, Marcie---let's all get in touch and decide what to bring! What meal are we cooking out on New Year's Eve?? Supper or lunch?

Woodswoman,

How about some traditional Southern "good luck" New Years food?

Did any of ya'lls mothers make you eat this stuff?

Collard greens for luck in money, black eyed peas(for Lord knows what)! :puke:

Lets hear some more traditions!

Basketcase

Why heck ya!

I already got ya covered Basket. Bought hog jowl and black eyed peas yesterday. (No I didn't butcher the hog or pick the peas out of my garden--but they will have to do!)

I will bring tater salad and the black-eyes! Maybe someone else will do the collards.....

P.S. I'm banking on that "good- luck in whatever...this year"

Yee hawww!

I can't commit to this yet... but we're gonna try to have pancakes & bacon for breakfast on new years day. Pancakes on the bus. A lifelong dream of mine! :p

matt.

Hey ya'll,

Bus food wound up being...

Barbecued pork steaks, beef steaks, beef burgers, beef hot dogs, sausages, pankakes, bacon, black-eyed peas, hashbrown caserole, chicken with alfredo noodles,, scrambled eggs with ham, garlic toast, fire baked potatoes, fruit, donut holes, little debbies and more!

Many thanks to the serenading for our dinner provided by Dakota!

Dang. The food was AWESOME at the bus! And not just the flavors... the quantity! There was so much food! And Jeff, you left out one or two small items... I remember someone putting out a plate of carved chicken (or turkey?) and making an awesome sandwich with some sourdough bread. And don't forget the chocolate milk! I tell ya what, this group knows how to make a camping menu!!!!!

I achieved my dream of having pancakes at the bus. Now my dream is to have them there often! mmmm... cakes from a pan! That was some of the tastiest bacon I've ever had. The nice location and fantastic company helped the flavor I'm sure. :)

woodswoman, with so much going on, I'll take the blame for telling your friend to "go ahead and set the cooler there"... were it sat the whole day and evening. But it worked out good... because that food you brought was our first meal of 2006! And that was some GOOD EATS!!!! Boy-o-boy, did it ever hit the right spot for a midnight dinner. As I recall, it did not last long. I went back for 3rds, and that big tray was nearly empty. I think me & Jabo & Jeff did some damage on that!!! And we all slept well that night with a good feeling in our bellies! Thank You!!!

I could not believe how well that propane griddle Laura picked up at Walmart performed. With the high sides, and good heat, and teflon surface, it made the fast production of pancakes possible, and the bacon, eggs, sausages, noodles, and more were cooked on it. It's a griddle. It's a skillet. We began calling it a "griddlet". I think I heard nearly everyone there say they were going to head to Walmart and pick one up for themselves. It was our first time using it, and we're not ever camping again without taking it along. I'm looking at the box for it now, it's called "Coleman Perfectflow Instastart Portable Skillet". Get your's today!

Good eats, good friends, good scenery, good times, good ridin'. Southern Airboat ROCKS!!!!

matt.

Matt, you are right! SouthernAirboat Rocks! When you and Laura tie the knot, let me know what your favorite dish is and I guarantee it will be there!

My only thought is that next time, I want to be camping out there on the bus with all of you guys. The place at Camp Mack was great, but roughing it is better.... Really missed that part, but had an Excellent time anyway. Ready to do it again......I live for this stuff!!
