The prop seem to be lose so we took the hub off and the crankshaft had broke in half. Now i don't know if i should fix this engine and put a reduction drive on it . Or i may just buy a jetski or snowmobile engine for it. goldhunter what would a 80hp jetski with everything to make it run cost me? thanks for the help

just would depend on what you find as a whole ski or part here and there. 80 hp stock your looking at something like a seasdoo/rotax 720 personally I think the yamaha then Kaw engines are better an more dependable as you don't have to worry about that rotary worm gear an just seem to hold up better . stock 760 yamaha would be get there or a built 650/701 would also get you in that HP range ow if you really wanted some torque jump up to a three cylinder non-powervalve 1100 or 1200 and add fuel injection . they have some newer bigger engines in yamaha 1300 or seadoo with 215hp but there are lots of problem areas with them plus the cost.

belt reduction units on these minis has more then the one benefit of letting the engine run full RPM and slowing the prop down when spinning a larger prop. the biggest benefit I see is that belt system eats up a large part or the start up sap an slow down nap caused when spinning up the prop

what was you hull again? do you really need 80hp do you want to stay with two cylinders or three? do you want a stock engine or built up and to what degree?
