jmo that hull would do fine and if i had that kinda hp id run a 237 or 268 with a 80-84" s i like the s over the r i dont own either but ran them both and the s seems to have more then the r does with high hp motors alot of people like the r its a nice prop but i love the push the s have like i say jmo .good luck

JAMES I WAS THINKING ON THE S ALSO BECAUSE OF LOW END PUSH AN A HEAVY BOAT ALSO

My dad has this setup exactly the same 540BBC and has a 2.38 with a 4 blade 82" r series turning it 5200rpm's. The boat is a hoss and does fine with this. I think if you had a 2.68 you would have to go to a 4blade-s-series or a 5 blade r-series and your talking a lot of coin!

I run that exact engine at 741hp on the dyno. Mine is in front of a 2.68 with a 3 blade Superwide Sensenich...but the load is bigger at 16ft long, 52 gallon tank etc. You can set that Superwide, even at 80 inches, to hold back any engine---just my experience.

Ruagatr, I thought there was a thread that someone stated if you go past the 2 mark on a superwide you lose the efficiency of the prop. That's why I said this. I bet your prop is well past the 2 mark.

i would think 2.68 4 bld s would be the best for my use because with camping gear an fire wood i need low end push more then i need top end speed an if it needs more prop pitch i have a bigger cam specs to raise the tq to 700 plus i dont plan on racing anyone so its just a matter of money

I WOULD THINK YOU ARE FULL OF $HIT!AND ARE JUST DREAMING ABOUT OWNING A BOAT.

A 3 Blade 82" Sen Superwide and a 237 should work real well with that motor. Like Ruagatr said, "You can set that Superwide, even at 80 inches, to hold back any engine---just my experience". When you start cranking the pitch to those S blades they start eating up RPM'S real quick.

Painkiller FYI 700HP @ 5000 = 735 Ft. lb. 650 Ft Lb @ 5000 = 619 HP[/quote

sorry if i wrote too fast for ya i got to learn to slow down so people can understand --as far as power that would be 700hp at 6000rpm an 700tq at 5000 with a solid roller upgrade
