Hey guys.Ive got a caddy 500 DD on a 14ft combee and have a 6 blade warp drive right now.It runs good but I want more push.I am looking at a 70 inch 2 blade wirlwind and a 3 blade secicnech narrow blade. My friend has the 3 blade on the same caddy and loves it much better than his old 2 blade.I am getting lots of mixed opinions and really want to get the best set up. Any advise would help..Thanks alot

Jimmy, how does that Warp Drive do for you on dry ground? I also am running a dd500 on a 14" Combee but I am swinging a 72 x 38 wide blade Florida Airprop. As heavy as this boat is, it runs dry pretty well as lond as I am not overloaded or stop in the wrong spot. Just curious-I eventually plan to put a gearbox on mine.

I had a 72/36 paddle and I think it pushed harder and was better in the dry definately than the warp drive but the warp does go better on top end which I dont want. The warp drive is definately a bit noisey but It will get me from point a to point b.I am going with the 70 inch 2 blade whirlwind.I will post when I take it out and see what it will do...

Hey Jimmy, The best push I've found for the caddy DD is the 72 inch Signature
Series Water Walker. Ajust the pitch to hold the engine RPMs to aprox 2800 on the
Trailer. it should turn aprox. 2900 to 2950 in the open water. This Prop is only
1000 Grams tip wt.. It is satisfaction Guaranteed for 30 days. if you are not
satisfied with the performance, you can return the prop for a full refund. If you
have trouble with this Prop, Bob Hoover is the tech for Water Walker. He can assist
in any problems. Thanks, Chuck

Thanks chuck.I did do a trade and got a new 70 inch whirlwind .I wanted the 72 but I got this prop for a even trade and it helped both of us out.I hope the 70 inch is enough but im sure it will push better than the warp drive..Or ill just tell the 5th girl to stay home the next ride!!!!

That sounds like a heavy boat for a 70" 2 blade. Call WhirlWind and see if you can trade up for a 72" or a 74". It might cost a little bit, but you would get a lot more push.

I run a 74" whirlwind stump puller on my dd500. I think the 70" might not be enough prop for you. I have mine set to 18 on the second mark on the blade and turn it at 2700 rpm at wot. It pushes great at that setting. I have been trying different prop settings to find MY sweet spot and so far this is the best setting for me for noise and push. Whirlwind suggested a 76" prop when I purchased mine but my cage would not hold that big of a prop. Make sure you don't spin it more than 3000 rpm. Add pitch to slow your rpms down. Maybe if you had a 3-blade hub and got another blade would be better.
