Camp Mack Road Cleanup

On Saturday, Jan 14th, KRVSA conducted its road cleanup along Camp Mack Road. BigDaddy, HarryTFirefighter, BranCo, Murdock, myself, Stevie Jurnigan, and a few others (I am so bad with names  ) police called the one mile stretch of road from the Liar's Lair to roughly just past the cowpens, that KRVSA is responsible for.

We found LOTS of trash!!! I think in the end the pile was just about road sign level high, waiting for the county to come pick it up. We found some tires, some car batteries, a nextel (they must have been real frustrated with the great service) and more. BigDaddy shouldn't have to buy any tackle for a while, as he collected several NEW packs of fishing hooks!! HarryTFirefighter had a little trouble with his trash grabber (LOL,LOL sorry Harry I had to do it!!).

Most of the trash was on the north side of th road ( the right side or the leaving Camp Mack side). It was obvious that the vast majority of this was deposited after being blown out of boats and trucks heading home from the lake. So, please we all need to ensure that we clean out our trash before leaving the ramps (most ramps have trash cans) and help keep Florida clean.

Good Work Guys!

I was there Sunday morning, it looked nice and clean along the road! I hope others appreciate your effort! Thank an airboater....

Good work guys! See, cleaning up pays!!! LOL Did you find a green PFD? After the October 3rd ride, I had left my PFD on the seatback of our boat, and later discovered it had blown off. Dang. I learned that lesson about stuff blowing out of the boat for sure! And not just the boat.... the bed of a truck too.

I'll bet you a dollar that the phone was left on the hood or roof of someone's car. Just this evening, I almost drove out of my shop parking lot with the phone sitting on the hood (sort of out-of-sight on the passenger side) after meeting with the boss and looking at some blueprints using the hood of the truck as a table.

But there is just no excuse for tossing trash out the window. NO EXCUSE!!! (well, except MAYBE... "But it was on fire!")

matt.

I was gonna let the grabber thing rest - but, you brought it up...

Whaddaya think about a guy who is up on the road shoulder pickin the easy stuff up while another guy (Hey Bubba - can you get that thing down there..) is in the ditch with the real nasty stuff, and then there's a cottonmouth, cold but still ugly, and it's time to crawl up and out...and this other fella up on top says " Can I help?" so the ditch guy hands him his grabber so as to make the escape easier...and the fella on top..We'll call him Sgt. Scout..he takes the perfectly good grabber and breaks it across his leg and puts it in his trash bag......saying.."Gee, that thing looked pretty good, all except the sucker cup things are gone.." Then the ditch guy has to explain to President Branco why his wife's favorite grabber is totalled....you know, the one that never had sucker cups....it had the pointy finger grabber things..except it is now in grabber heaven.

Great story....This is so funny! Now, why in the world would you Not want to mention something this classic?? Hey Harry, how fast did you make it out of that ditch??? Thanks for the laugh this morning....just what I need before heading into work!
