Can someone "Clarify pitch settings"? Please

I would like to understand pitch settings or the numbers on a wood prop. I have looked back thru posts but have not found an answer.I beleive the first number is length, middle is rotation, andlast is pitch. What I want to know is the number for pitch, the lower number V.S higher number, 68LML32to a 68LML38,speed vs push
Thanks for any help

68LML32 = 68 inches in diameter, 32 is the theoretical pitch at at the 75% blade station (75% down the length of the blade from the hub). lower pitch equals more push, higher pitch equals higher speed. higher number, higher speed. lower number, lower speed. hope this helps

like said the first number is the diameter of the prop, next the "LXL" 'LML" etc is the bolt pattern of the hub the last number is pitch the lower number pitch is easier for a smaller motor as you step up Hp you step up that pitch to hold the engine down around 2750-3000 Rpm. The longer diameter will provide more push but since you added surface area you will back down a few degrees on pitch for example if you are using a 68x38 and change to a 72" diameter your pitch should be around 32 or 34
