Candy Orange Boat

Airboatcapt2

Well-known member
Well it's official, the candy orange boat will be leaving Orlando to Head to Texas. It is being put to work next week. It is Sold. I guess this means I have to start building another DEMO boat. I did not want to sell if but I gave him a price and he drove to the shop to discuss it with Stan and wrote a check. When I start working on the specs, I would like to get some feedback from other SA member on what they would like to see. I dont think I want anything to crazy but maybe a few final details that will make it stand out.

It will probably be bigger than most florida boats and it will have the deep sides again but other than that, I am pretty open to ideas.

I am seriously thinking about some WaterThunder Power!

Faron

That was my exact thought to use one of his Engines ,since it is going to be large boat you might think about a LS 7 it is 427 ci and then run some real Quit mufflers and a Q series prop so you can be an Ambasadore for Airboaters and help show folks we are tring to get the boats quit, I also put some Super traps on the end of my exhaust on top of the mufflers I already have on it and I did not notice a performance loss but it did make the boat a lot quiter. you could maybe call it the wisper boat

Sniper, I want to add something to my mufflers to get it quieter. I keep reading about the super trapp but I'm not sure what I should buy. I currently have 2 1/2 inch Magna-Flow's but it's still too loud for me.

Maybe I should go back to aircraft mufflers. A friend of mine has a Cessna 172 with a Lycoming O-360 and it's as quiet as a car. I'd still like to try out the Super-Trapp if I can fiqure out exactly what I need.

Hum my choice would be a big inch 550HP plus Horsepower LS series motor that runs on 93 pump gas. There are some awesome heads out there for airboats now!

Go to the Super trap web site and look in the AUTIMOTIVE SECTION and they list the sizes there I used the 3" ones for mine and I got some short pices of 3 " ss tubing and tiged them on the end and the took them to a mufler shop and had them enlage them a little bit so the just sliped over my tail pipes and then put a couple of sheet metal screws thru it on each side so they would not come off and it works great, they come with 12 plates and I left all twelve in and I did not notice any performance loss

maybe a full deck with storage and a counter rotator with the master blaster and super snaper with a Waterthunder built Big Block. See how stealthy you can get with it. I did love the color of the orange boat. (Maybe even a stretched Caddy Experiment for Thunder and Felber)

I'm gonna miss that boat Faron. VERY NICE BOAT.

You once posted something about a photo contest or something for your boat. I did not enter because I already gave you the photos I have of your boat.

That candy orange boat has long been one of my favorite to photograph.

Here it is at one of the airboat rodeos.... That lake wanted the boat on the bottom, but Faron and the orange boat thought otherwise.

The prop is IN THE WATER....

GREAT SAVE, Faron!!!

I hope... no, I KNOW the new one will be just as awesome of a boat Faron. It's what you do.

I'm gonna miss that orange boat.

matt.

I'd like to see one painted, decaled, or whatever it takes to make it look like a gator hide. I can do some things with these machines I have , but painter I'm not. Good luck with the new build, I know it will be pretty neat . Later, Cajun

Hey Faron,

I've got a "slightly used" RED airboat that I'd gladly sell to you at a great  price... He, he, I can hear your laughing from here (Ohio).
B. :D

Brian, it ain't the "slightly used" part that scares us ..... it's that the boat probably won't even run unless
the temperature is below 40 degrees.

Just kiddin of course.

olf

Hey!! It'll run if the temp is over 40 degrees. It runs just like it's owner does when it's hot out.. Real grumpy!!!! :D :D

Sniper, you're probobly right, I'd be like a fish out of water without "big red" to abuse on a regular basis.....

Bring on the snow and ice, I can't wait.....

"You need help"
Aw Shucks man, that's the nicest thing anyone has said to me in a long time..

Customer is picking it up tonight, I sure hate to see it go.

But I am thinking hard about my next one now.

Maybe 16ft Camo
572
4 blade

Oh boy now your talking, just what I wanted to hear, I can help you with that just look at my boat let me know and I tell were to get the paint and I'll come over with my Spray gun, Look out Brian there might be two of us running around you now and you won't be able to see us because were Camoed

Thanks for the offer Sniper, that Jungle style Camo you have is nice but I am thinking about going shadowgrass.

I like this one, but this is an 18ft extra deep hull.
