Carburetor Question

I have a Edelbrock 1405 carburetor, on a Chev SB, v8, vortex, gen1, marine engine. 255hp @ 4400 rpm.

On a 18-foot airboat, Franklin 2:1 drive unit, 6-blade warp drive. I run around 3400-3800 rpm 25-30 mph in deep water.

My question is what can I do to improve the performance of the carburetor. Is this a good carburetor for my engine?

My boat motor was built by GM, to be used as a Kodiak marine engine to drive a water prop, you could think of it as a H. D. truck engine, max rpm 4800. My Warp drive prop are set to 80 inch, @ 11* max rpm 4500.
