#1 cylinder at TDC
rotate CCW to ~28 degrees before TDC
Clock the timing gear to mesh with the coupling, with the "timing mark" inside set center (right where the points break contact)
Lock down & go....right?
Now here's where I'm a little unsure: As you slowly pull the prop past the 28 deg. point, on past TDC, and to ~25 degrees after TDC the impulse "clicks".
Is this also OK?
Is it OK to start the engine without a prop? (It's got a flexplate & hub attached, and while I don't think so, I've been wrong more than once.)
