Chuck. James Rackley

A friend of mine spoke with the family last Thursday. They said it was actually his grandson and that he was still in hospital in a bad way. Prayers

Any plans for a benefit ride and farewell? I know one was done several years back when he semi-retired.

I just read this and what a sad day for me. Chuck was very helpful towards me in building the ecotec boat. He will be missed by those that knew him! RIP Chuck.

My first post here, and very sad to see this. I purchased a LHU and wiring harness with Chuck's help several years ago, and he modified the harness for my application (car-related, I'm not an airboat owner). He was always SO helpful, and friendly...a super knowledgeable guy. I had lost his contact info and came here to find it again as I was going to reach out to him with some follow up questions about my application (he also was my point person for the Trifecta mods, so I have to find someone else who can help me). I knew he was battling cancer for years, and was shocked and saddened to read of his passing and the accident. You all lost a golden member, he was one of a kind. RIP Chuckitt.

I just wanted to take a minute to post some information about this wonderful man. He and his son were involved in a horrific car accident. Unfortunately Chuck passed away 9 days later and their son is still in the hospital on a ventilator. Diane, Chuck’s wife, is having to go and stay in a hotel up in GA when the transfer Chucky because there is no place here that will take someone on a ventilator. I am considering making a GoFundMe page to help her with all of the expenses for her just to live. She is truly struggling and something needs to be done to help her especially when this man would have helped anyone and everyone without ever any hesitation.

UPDATE!!!
Chuck’s son Chucky passed away this morning at around 1:30AM. The family now will need the help to pay for the funeral for both Chuck and Chucky!! I know the family is really broken right now. Please keep them in your prayers.

Go ahead and make the GofundMe page and I will gladly donate! Chuck was a good man and always willing to help others.

I need to know if I am able to post the the link for the GoFundMe page on here?

I know that this is a huge loss to the airboat community but it is also an even bigger loss to those of us that were lucky enough to have him as a dear friend.

I need to get the link to as many places as possible

Never known chuck to warrant a go fund me page for anything?
Worked way past his prime and some real shit left airboat pros to support his family?
Maybe why he had to work so hard?

My feelings, Chucked worked his ass off for family that welcomed it?

Prototype, Not sure what your point is here and really don't want to know. What I do know is when I needed help setting up a ecotec airboat, Chuck was very helpful even though I didn't buy anything from him. That says a lot about what kind of person he was.

If you've never been in a situation where you had to go out of town to be with a loved one who is in the hospital and had no place to stay except your car because you couldn't afford a hotel, you may not understand. I have been there and done that.

Fortunately for my wife and I there was a older couple who lived near the hospital who had a spare apartment and offered it to us free for as long as we needed it. I have not and will not ever forget their generosity. I'm sure they have long sense gone to their reward and the only way I can repay them is to "PASS IT ON" which I do when I get the chance.

So my donation is for Chuck and that older couple who helped me when I needed it so many years ago.

Skinnypockets,

Thanks for taking the effort to set up the GoFundMe. I know Diane will need the support of friends.

Really gonna miss Chuck. He was one innovative man, respectful of everyone, respected by the good folks and one tough old Marine!

Go in peace Chuck..... probably outfitting heaven with Ecotecs......

I didn't sat up the GoFundMe account but did donate, just wish I could do more. I certainly agree with everything else you said about Chuck.
