Hey ya'll,

Gotta take a weekend off and do the "honey-do" list.

Big Feather will have the Southern Airboat booth set-up at the swap meet.

If someone sees the upper and lower bracket for a Lenco trim tab will ya' grab it for me please 8) And eat some boiled peanuts for me too!

Basket, there's a joke up here that goes something like this ......

If you cause a 14 car pile-up on the Fuller Warren bridge (4 lanes each way) pullin over to get some boiled peanuts, you MIGHT be a redneck ..... .
I promise to eat enough of them for both of us.

OT.......years ago in Tampa near a company I used to visit(Racal Milgo), a very HOT girl in a bikini used to sell hotdogs. You couln't count the skid marks where she parked the trailer. Eventually, the city shut them down.

We had the same thing here in Jacksonville a few years ago ...... some guy had hot dog stands all over town with very hot lookin' women in skimpy two piece bathing suits sellin them.
The City shut him down because they couldn't stand the traffic accidents.
A hot dog just doesn't taste the same anymore ..... .

The 1st ever Swap Meet at GTO Airboats in Ocala today was a Huge Success! Everybody involved was pleased, and a few of us were even a little surprised at the turnout.

From early morning the stream of vehicles pulling into the GTO property for the meet was very impressive. A whole field full of airboats 'For Sale', and folks selling rigging and engines, major vendors like Water Walker and Sensenich, smaller vendors like our buddy Cajun, ABW magazine there giving away free copies of past issues. Clubs like KRVSA selling raffle tickets for the Diamondback that will find a lucky new owner later this month ....... if you weren't there you missed a great day.
Lots of SAO folks came by our little booth, and I hope we made a lot of new friends for us too.

Capt. Swampjet and the folks at GTO did a Great job. If you missed it you need to plan to be at the next one for sure.

BF

I was there had a boat and a few mis. parts for sale. I sold some of my stuff. And met some SAO members and some of the guys at GTO gave some real good info on Different things I asked.
It was a great show can't wait for the next one.

Wow what a great turn out. We got there about 8:45 and the place was filling up. Alot of great people and alot of great stuff. Nice too see the SAO family. There was a surprise guest who appeared there. THat was the last place I thought I would see him. It was passtime(Larry) from Louisinana. Wow. It was so great to see him and he let us know what has been going on with him.
Nice to meet you Uncle Bubba. There was alot of people who stopped to check out southernairboat and thanks to BF for being there. It was good to see Swampjet, Janice, Lauren, Country, Marcy, Stan, Cheryl, Cajun, and all the others that showed up.
Had a great time just going and hanging out.

It couldn't have been a nicer day! It's always a pleasure to be in the company of our airboating family! A big thanks to Norm and Keith of GTO airboats for their hospitality and for allowing the FAA representatives to make more copies when we ran out of the House Bill 733 info!

An impressive showing by the airboating community, we are strong and we are present, ready to protect our right to our sport! I met so many folks who told me of their airboating heritage, and their love of the sport! I totally understand....

Thanks to all who stopped by the FAA booth and lent a hand to set up, and talk to folks. Jim Brown, president of Lake County Airboat Club thanks for all your hard work helping get this booth set up. Lee Chamberlain, we appreciate you!

Sorry I missed it, sounds like ya'll had a good time.

Thanks BF for setting up the booth & passing out stickers.

Rick

Our pleasure, Rick ..... we had lots of help from other SAO family who stopped by too. Nice little Club House you've got here ...... 8) .

Man! There was enough there ( airboat stuff )to make a grown man drool. Lots and lots of stuff to plunder thru, look at and wish for. Met alot of great folks like Big Feather, Moodfood and another home boy Cajun from Orange Lake way. Seen some others I had met before like Mudpuppy. Made alot of good contacts for my gator stuff from some really great hunters from across the state. The local game warden was a really decent guy to talk to, come to find out we knew alot of the same folks from my old trapping days about 30 + years back. All I can say is I had a really nice time and met alot of great folks there. I would hope it won't take too long before someone puts another one together. No 2 ways about it, it had to have been a success. Later , Cajun

I'd like to send out a BIG THANKS to cntry141iq and UncleBubba for doing a lot of running around and legwork to educate me and help me find a $10 fix to a nearly stripped out bolt on my prop adaptor. I learned a LOT and saved $120 on buying a new one. Turns out all I needed to do is to put the hub on a press and push in a new bushing. I never cease to be impressed at what you will do for someone else cntry. I owe you a lot, brother. Thanks again. Once we get that bushing on our prop adaptor (purchased from GTO), our boat will have a part on it from nearly every airboat mfgr in Florida! LOL

Cajun - Nice to meet you & your BETTER half - You are one cool character! I'll be seeing you again real soon I'm sure. I need to get that oxy tank to ya.

Wade - So glad you made it! I's always nice to see you. I'm sure we'll bump into you out on Puzzle Lake sometime soon for sure.

KRVSA - Thanks for being there and for allowing us to officially join the cause! Laura and I got a family membership and we could not feel more proud to be part of such an active group. Looking forward to years of helping airboaters all over the state thru association with the KRVSA.

Chris & Charity - You shoulda brought your truck with the killer window and showed it off for everyone! I guess we'll just have to come down there and go riding with you so we can see it in person. :)

Thanks GTO & CCAA. We got there late, but enjoyed the show!

Terri @ ABW - It was great to meet you - I wish we had gotten there sooner - I'd have loved to hung out there more - It was just so tough to make the rounds on the short amount of time we had there! Next time for sure. I wanted to mention that if you ever need anything - We're there for you.

matt & Laura.

We had a great time also! Kim and I rode our Road King from Port Orange to GTO Air boats facility. The red bike with the Southern Air boat sticker on the side of it. It was 84 miles from the house. I think we were standing out in the crowd with the leathers on :) It was a little chilly on the ride without em!
Cajun, Thanks for the Gator gear that I got from you. You do some very fine work and I hope to gig me a BIGGIN with it :D It was a pleasure to meet you sir! You definitely took care of me. Thank you!!
Mood, I thought I heard a train horn in the parking lot, was that you
CChart, That is one cool tat on your leg, Took about a second to figure that one out :D
Bigfeather, saw you there but was a little apprehensive to talk to you after the thread I wrote the other day. You did speak to me by the way when you stated (nice day for a ride) when you walked by. It was a nice day to ride indeed! Good to see you there!
Unclebubba, wish I would have known who you were, I would have liked to have met you.
Cntry, Saw you there but you were involved In a discussion about props with a fella and I didn't want to interrupt. Looks like you purchased a few things at GTO, Your hands where full. Southern Air boat was definitely there. Glad to see and hear about all that was there. Good job :D

Wade, once you get to know me I say what's on my mind. You say what's on yours. You don't have to agree with me, and in fact I respect that.
Then we shake hands and have a beer.

Introduce yourself the next time.

BF

Nah .... plan on usin' it for an anchor the next time I go out.
Sure it works, man. It's just fine.

BTW, I gotta tell ya that you married WAY over your head. That Sandy is one sweet Lady. Hope she didn't get too tired out there on Sat.

BF

Wade I walked up as you was about to leave. You was talking to Moodfood. I relized who you was as you walked off. I was the fat guy that came up behind Moodfood. I had the purple boat hooked to the white Dodge with the 302 Ford on it. I think I saw you out lookin at the boats for sale. Next time I will say something. I don't see how anyone can mis me at 350 lbs.
